I'm on a very tight budget and can't afford a carbon fibre pole, so which would you recommend, aluminium or fibreglass? also what size would you suggest? thinking of getting at a 25ft. any advice would be great.

If your after cheap and cheerful we do a fibreglass 27ft works out about 115 complete with brush, fibreglass isn't the best in all honesty bends alot and you don't have much control over the brush head when using, we do a hybrid which is well worth considering works out to 204 with the VAT

is that the barracuda? was thinking about it, what are they like?

My advise if you can is save a bit more money and go for the FULL carbon Gardiner SLX 25. A little bit more money in the beginning but in the long run it is better value for money.

Speak to Tony who has proof, still going strong for many years

I agree with this.

What you save in a few quid now is going to handicap you from day one @ 25ft. The very minimum (if budget is so crucial) is Hybrid and you want a very light brush to go with it. The full carbon SLX will outlast any Hybrid, is more rigid and lighter- both of which affect you for every minute you are using it. That adds up to a lot of time. It also comes with a quality light brush AND SMART CLAMPS. My current SLX is approx 4 to 5 years old and still going strong having been exclusively my everyday pole.

 4 to 5 years old! Fair play, don't know how you do it. I'm lucky to get 18 months out of mine
