Is your van worth what you're paying?

two hundred notes for one guy seems big cash to me, if you keep that up six days thats big cash in my book

there is a lot of WC not getting that much in my opion

Not I, I have however had a new Renault Trafic 140 Sport priced up to my spec and will be taking delivery in November, I know that sounds a long way off but I'm waiting till I get back from the wedding in September to take it on.

Also designing a bespoke set up for it that I will pas to the lads a WCW to help put together so that will be nice to have for Christmas! /emoticons/smile.png

And lastly I decided to go for a new one as my accountant says it will be a good time for me to buy. Something about reducing my tax liability or something.

Just about to lease another transit custom actually lol
Might I ask why you are leasing as opposed to buying outright? My personal view point with a lease is you pay month after month and when the lease is up you return the van and have nothing to show for it? Buying it on finance the difference in payments monthly is not that great but after the payment term you at least own the van.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

More cost effective for tax purposes.

I'm a lucky boy. My wife bought me a brand new Peugeot expert to get me out on my own. Mainly because of the warranty. Worry free motoring. I honestly don't know how long to keep it though. See what the bank account holds in three years, then decide I recon.

Interesting reading this thread. I have a dilema though. I'm a one man band and have a Transit chassis cab kitted out for bin cleaning. It's 14 years old but only has 60k genuine miles! Looks tidy and drives great. Should I change on aesthetics purposes or just crack on and kerching?

Just finished off paying (was brand new) Astra van. Paid it off over 3 years best thing Ive done. was messing round with cheap vans breaking down all the time.

Paid £12,000 for it probs worth about 6 now. Doesn't matter to me as I'll be keeping it for another 7 years.

I had a bit of a face lift on the van last year, new decals and some laser etched boards for the side panels. Not much rust on her but she looks old compared to some of the vans knocking about. Thing is she's perfect for my needs. 750lt tank on the back, rear seats removed for pumps and tools. Ladders on the back amd still enough room for my packed lunch and my Jack Russell!

altho im not lookin for a new van i still browse the ads most days ,as u do. this old crock caught my eye, what i was thinking soon as i saw its image was the ladders all View attachment 6632 would shoot INSIDE it ,which would be a real timesaver.

I had an LWB high top in Jersey and we used to toss ladder inside no problems.
did u really? are those thirsty, on fuel, twin wheel , + do they hoss along? i spose no motorways on jersey to really open it up on !
