Hi been doing trad for a while and I am merging over to wfp so was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good pole to start off with as I have been given one but seems rather heavy . Not looking to spend loads , unless someone has a good second hand one for sale ?

Also any tips and hints for someone starting out with wfp would be great.

I think something that could do 3 storey . Tried looking on here for a second hand one but can't find any that haven't sold .

hard to come by, trouble with gardiners stuff is it sells on ebay for almost as much as it costs new just less the tax,

if you get a 27 & don't need the height often you just buy an end cap & take a section off untill needed

a 27 does 3 story ok but you can get extensions if needed

Yeah I have noticed that on eBay. I was watching a 22 the other day and it only just started and it was on £73 with postage ! I could get away with using a 22 I think

get the best you can afford, if its new its guaranteed & a new brush & the fittings you want, are you gonna be using a backpack & whats your tap water tds

My friend does wfp so he's giving me the water so that isn't a problem and I have a trolley system with 25l tubs . I just wanted to try and get a light weight pole that's not too expensive to see how I get on .

Get yourself an 18 and a 27 bud. You will find an 18 will cover 90% of your work on 2 storey domestic and the 27 will do 3 storey, over connies etc.

Cheers, Mike

Where did you get it from Dave ? Any about at a good price ? What sort of weight are they ?

Got mine direct from gardeners mate. About £160 Ish and it's the only pole that I have used but seems light enough and easy to manage even fully extended on 3 story houses. And you should be able to use it on all domestic jobs. I'm new to wfp to but haven't had to turn away a customer yet and the money spent on the pole was earned back in a couple of days .

I trad downstairs are WFP some upstairs using a backpack...I bought a CLX18...does everything I need it to and reaches everything on my round...if I was using a pole more and when this one gets worn out I will probably go for a SLX22.

The one in Marks vid I believe is an 18.

If just one pole you want a 27ft minimum as this will cover almost everything you come across and if it is too heavy for you (which it will not be) just remove the bottom section and add it back when you need it.

I use Water Genie Viper poles (SLX Equivilant) and love them the one Mark is showing is a WG Barracuda I believe.

@adam davies reperesents Water Genie on here. Or go direct to his web site

New Water Genie Barracuda 27ft Hybrid Pole

I would buy something around 35ft as you will be able to reach 2nd floor Windows and veluxes etc, you can always remove a couple of sections for day to day use... Although initially it would be more expensive, it would be a better investment over buying an 18-20ft and wanting something longer in a few months...

The trouble is I have t got loads of money to go and get one to start ?
Above I have recommended a 27ft pole with all the goodies that retails at £170.

As many on here will say that is 'No' money for a pole of that length.

If you honestly cant afford that then you need to get a ladder and trad tools until you can.

I dont mean for that to sound offensive but you wont get started in WFP for £20.
