I've been having problems facebook. Somebody keeps sending me anonymous post telling me to clip my eyebrows, have a shave and cut my hair.

I think someone is trying to groom me /emoticons/biggrin.png

Problem with 1 is she wanted it cheap, problem with 2 is she wanted it cheap hence no response, problem with 3 is i dont like one offs

im a funny bugger though

theres a lot of "pro messers" on facebook. they often give unwanted advice on the pet for sale pages "dont sell him he will be used for baiting" . they also often sell **** stuff periodically such as tv wall bracket, stairgate , corsa that wont start but "good as gold too good to scrap"

All the FB customers I got turned out to be **********! I found a little group with 300 members and picked up about 10 jobs from them. So happy with that one group.

But the big for sale pages. Forget it.

Would rather stick a fork in my eye.

Dont you mention a initial clean price when quoting?

FB works great for me, very powerful if used right, in the last 2 weeks I have taken on 80+ new jobs, slowly getting through there first cleans, doing about 5 a day on top of my regular jobs.

I have banked on loosing 20% to one offers but I am pricing all firsts at atleast a double clean so it doesnt bother me if a few go.

A mate gave me a golden tip on using FB right, he werent kidding, best advertising platform about. But yeh never use the selling sites, not much on there apart from a few time wasters.

Watch Yourself on fb.

Message one seems to be chancer but don't rub people up wrong way be nice and pleasant as. If u get the wrong person at the wrong time. They will destroy ur rep over fb

At the moment no as I'm happy to take the first clean on the chin for a regular. And honestly you can see how they turn there nose up at a tenner can you imagine if I quoted 20 for a first clean!

I know a lot has to do with area as I'm sure you would get a better response down south. Had another this morn wanted a one off done on Sunday as hubby won't have a regular guy.

It's not just window cleaning social media breeds messers I've tried selling cars on there and it's even worse.

I disagree totally, don't be a fool doing firsts for no premium, I have no issue asking and getting 75% of quotes off FB and my firsts start at £20 and rise depending on the property.

People you want on your books are happy to pay extra for a proper job, elaborate you deep clean frames etc on the first clean and put some photos on of before n afters. Ive had loads recently who have sacked off there old cleaners and are paying nearly double, some even more for me to do them, its all about good advertising and standing out as a more premium service. Even something simple like wash there garage door on all firsts where appropriate will make people take notice.

People will always pay for a decent service.

I couldnt imagine doing a minging first clean for a tenner!

The only problem I see is quoting 'guesstimates' through FB messenger.

No matter how they come to me I tell them I cant give a price without seeing the job.

At that stage pro messers say 'err ok I let you know'

Everyone else has you go and quote. Even if I am too expensive for them they then realise that window cleaning is a LUXURY they can not afford.

I have had a large bump in my pricing structure the past 4 months and have reduced my customer base by almost 50 clients but yet due to better pricing my monthly take is still the same.

I am going to a job today, cleaned his windows last year for £8 following month he said no, every other month. Next time no access etc etc. Gave up didnt go back.

He called yesterday to book, I said is it monthly or one off? He said one off as he is moving. I replied £25 for a one off as it takes longer. He said errrrmmmm OK when can I book him in?

I dont think area is the issue, i know Adams is actually tougher than most but I would rather have decent paid work than than too much poorly priced work. Been there hated that.

Even on my website for those that find me through Google it says 'Window cleaning prices from £12' so they know before calling it isn't going to be £5.

Due to the sheer volume I am getting currently and covering nearly the whole county, I just cannot go and quote in person, however I ask upon them showing interest for there postcode, door number/name, total number of windows, if a conny I ask for total number of main window panes ignoring the small top openers, and a rough size of it. I then take this info and look at google maps, most match up, then I give a guided initial first/deep clean, most are £20 to £25, with the exact price given on the day. All my firsts are cash on the day, most aint in so it is hidden for me, they leave the max I quoted so if between £20-£25 they leave me £25, if it's a easy one I leave change, if not I take £25. I then price them on the number of windows for on-going regular cleans at roughly a £1 a window. Working great for me, not turned up to any shockers yet that I have under priced, where as I would of if I had not added a first supplement. They take 3 or 4 times longer done right so why would you not ask for more? If it is explained to them the genuine ones will always be happy.

I have stopped all other advertising because of FB recently.
