I'm wondering how I get the water from my tank in the van to my wheelie bin so I can have the pressure washer with me whilst filling the bin? Might be having a blonde moment here [emoji85]

How will it fill? Will the shurflo pump be quick on enough to fill whilst I'm working @Evie Stevie

Hi Neil do you mean having the Shurflo pump on your van system pumping water into the bin whilst cleaning ?

I'm having a blonde moment as well

Not sure what litre machine you have but there's no way that pump will keep up with the amount of water your sucking from the bin!

Also your tank in van will empty quickly

Is there no access to outside tap?

Even if there is make sure it has a little water pressure

Hope this helps

I have hozelock fittings on the van tank tap. So, I can just attach a PW to the tank directly.

There's no outside tap which is the worst thing [emoji85]

Not sure but a think a Shurflo pump is about 5lpm max

So wouldn't supply water fast enough to your buffer tank to keep up with machine

Is there no access to water anywhere?

try a bilge pump,i use it to fill the backpacks.we drop them in the tank and leave them until needed

i wouldnt do it unless you can fill your water butt up via tap from house. wait till there in, get a fitting on the inside kitchen tap. not enough pressure to come from your van tank.

you would need a 1" hose instead of 1/2".

id leave it untill you can get the right gear to syphon your van water quicker.

check pw supliers for advice on a van setup, and what you will need .

most house jobs have a tap outside. if not make sure you have the right fittings for indoors tap fitting.

must be 100% secure, imagine tap flying off and flooding there kitchen[delusional]:itwasntme::666:

Neil, if you have a 15 LPM pump in your van and your pressure washer is 15L or less, then there is no reason why you can't use that to transfer to a wheelie bin. I would use a garden hose to transfer the water as opposed to a microbore etc. Just fill the bin before starting to get a head start on the water in the bin.

But he will still have limited water regardless of the pump he transfers with

Let's say he has a 500 litre tank that's not going to last very long

Sorry to hijack this thread, but any chance someone could answer my question on the XI6 sprayer? Apologies once again

True, but I have done some small PW Jobs using the tank in my van a few times. If the job isn't big, and you aren't using a high volume washer, then it works fine.

You can also check with the water authority. Over here in Northern Ireland, we can 'hire' for the use of a mains water standpipe. The authority charge for a period of use e.g. per month at a time. Then you can just stick a standpipe into a mains supply in the ground and feed your wheelie bin or van tank off that. I assume if you pay for water, then there will be a meter on the standpipe as well.
