After using backpack for some gutters it's got me into Wfp.been watching vids online Wfp , d I system, backpack and tds for about the last 4 hours mainly wagga on you tube ,very interesting. I'm thinking of doing Wfp tops and trad bottoms ,don't want to give up trad altogether,it'll Deffo save on my legs and I have a few houses that are leaded and a few with awkard Windows that I'd love to not use ladders on ,I swear blind that I'd use it only for gutters and connys but the more I think/and look into it it seems so natural and it should be the next step.

Do I just go straight into it and not tell custys 90% won't be in anyway or should I be up front and tell them straight off? Iv got to check my tds and hopefully I'll only need a d I system.mmm something to thiNk about anyway....

This has been covered many times. I.m.o you should pre warn customers, but tell them the benefits. As for tradding the lower windows, don't. This is just my opinion, but if you explain the benefits of w.f.p, and then trad the bottoms, it doesn't make sense. Also, when you see how much faster w.f.p is, id be amazed if you'd want to trad the bottoms

its so quick WFP, by the time you have put your gear away and got your BOAB sorted half the bottoms could be done

i,ve got my own saying when your selling yourself trying to convince the customers

all the frames are clean windows finished "have you had new windows fitted cant believe they are so clean"

at least your going in the right direction watching wagga videos:thumbsup:i agree: it would be faster cleaning the downstairs windows aswell,"in some cases".your just starting off with wfp so trading bottoms will benefit you for the moment because you will save on water.SOMETIMES in my opinion its quicker getting the ladders off and cleaning them trad:eek:

i never say the frames are cleaned as customers can expect them to be restored.

I always say the frames and cills are washed down each time the windows are cleaned. If they pick up on this I say the frame and cills will become cleaner with the regular washing.

This is what I'm currently doing (WFP through backpack upstairs, trad bottoms)...for some reason when I WFP the bottoms I seem to spend longer on those that I do the upstairs, might be because I can see every tiny spot and try to get all the gunk out between window and cill...time wise I don't think there is much in it on the downstairs between WFP and trad, there is a big time saving on the upstairs though (and the safety benefits)...I'm getting my water from a freinds factory, any potential time saving would probably be lost in more frequent water pick ups...I tend to WFP all the tops in the road I'm working, put it away and then do all the bottoms trad, by the time I'm finished and knocking the doors the tops are dry and I don't have water dripping down on the bottoms as I'm cleaning.

If the tops are clean it doesn't matter that they are dripping on the bottoms

It makes no difference to me

I am a quick tradder but if i took as long wfp on the bottoms then I'm doing something wrong

In a very little time I recon you'll be saying 'Why on earth didn't I do that sooner.'
I wouldn't be surprised if you say this again when you start doing the bottom windows wfp. I know I waited far too long worrying about this that and the other. It's true, if you are working with a limited supply, ie; trolley or backpack, you might want to at first to conserve water, but once you get used to it, it will be quicker and you won't use as much as you think.

What started me doing the lot wfp was when my gear started freezing up one cold day while I was tradding the downstairs of some houses I'd started wfp. Was working with cold water, it was about 0 degrees and windy. I worked out that if I just kept going wfp the gear didn't freeze. One or two of my customers that were in commented,'I don't know why you don't do them like that anyway.' So from then on I did and immediately noticed I was managing to fit more work in per day.

By the way dassir, hope your grateful, been on the pis$, took me forever to type that
always grateful bud ty

Cheers guys , read so much and watched so much window cleaning stuff I'm starting to clean window s in my sleep,it reminds me when I first started years ago lol.windows on the brain

I could do both of them with 25l in a backpack

Only first cleans take time and water

been doing these for a few years ,these are the only ones that slow me down . these seem to take me longer then normal (trad) 25 mins -30mins each so do both in 50mins-1hour I was happy with hour rate , most of the windows are leaded does strain the arms messing about with them ,looking forward to banging these out with backpack plus shouldnt take half as long ...

Dasslr I always keep a small squeegee in my pocket even when WFP - for some downstairs I brush scrub the window with pure then just blade it off

Best of both worlds

I usually have a small squeegee on me but it is to get the muck off the sills rather than lots of rinsing

Or I use a microfibre
