Public liability insurance

Hi I've been asked to do a block of flats however the maintenance people want me to have 5million pounds worth of public liability cover.

Is this realistic as it seems excessive to me?

Where would be the best place to get covered?

I have 5 million cover. Needed it for bigger buildings. I would have thought it a reasonable request for a block of flats.

Not a good experience with simply business ! Why ? I phones for quote to be told £261 I clearly state my business requirements, however there are exclusions apparently.. As I do operate working at height which involves harness, grab ropes, triple ladder and roof ladder etc... I'm then told this is an exclusion Anyways im told they'd phone me back... Mmm still waiting !!! Waste of time !!!

My premium has just gone up with gleaming as have everybodys due to tax increase

That still only comes in at £180 per year and would cover anything we do for a job

I reckon you can't beat them for cover/price

Thats good and well, however i operate at 300bar 4400psi which they don't cover, on there website it states 3600psi, and simply business is a complete waste of time.. I'm now covered with AGEAS Insurance who have covered for every aspect of my business, that includes working at hight with the use of harness and rope !

COST £ 129 !!!! unbelievable

iv had very good service from Simply Business , Gleaming and another firm messed my quote about , i forget, whats the name of those big boys insurers im want to remember their name i see their headquarters i pass by it in colchester,its a short name i WANT to remember it before the end of this post............

Hi Green Pro, just wondering if Gleaming Insurance is worth a punt? And I'm only starting out so wondering if 1 million cover is enough for starting out, will mostly be residential properties.
