Hi guys

Went out for an hour earlier and picked up another 8.

All 3 bed semi or terraced. Prices are 4 weekly

3 bed semi £22 then £17

3 bed terraced £22 then £17

3 bed fronts only £15 then £10

This is 1st clean the regular price.

Had 1 person say no £10 for the fronts is crazy money. Even I feel 17 is getting on strong but they were happy to pay. Just don't want to lose everyone for the sake of a couple of quid.

May do the first cleans and see if I've overpriced them from 2nd clean onwards.

Based in South London by the way.

Thanks guys.

Too stong a price in my part of the country. But if there happy and there still loyal a year from now then fill your wallet.

Nah think it's fine mate. Do a great job and if you truly feel your taking the biscuit then knock it down to £15 and tell them why. If everyone's happy and you do a perfect job everytime then doubtful they will switch.

That's was my thinking. Didn't want to sell myself short and say £12 for example then a month down the line ask for £15.

Thought it would seem nicer to say £17 then drop the price before they even ask to say £14 or £15 and make them feel as though they have had a touch.

Don't want to be dear or cheap just fairly in the middle / slightly dearer

Really damo.
£17 for front door 3 windows at front and back doors and 3 windows.
Be on more per hour than a high flying city banker if you filled your books with loads of them! Leaving yourself open to been sliced in half though even if you do a mint job. 1 min per window tops, knock a fair few out in the hour.

be intrested to see if they hang on,once the initial novelty of clean windows wears off a bit

I'd be thinking that they might cancel after a couple of cleans too. Prices sound high to me, but I ain't got a clue about London prices.

I am sorry i don't get the whole my area won't take that price mentality.

I have under priced work but it's compact so haven't rocked the boat too much. £30 per hour can be done with eyes closed.

There are people out there who will pay for a good service.

I don't think there is such thing as a correct price for a window cleaner, it seems it does vary greatly in different parts of the UK, pricing will come down to demand for your service, when I started out I under priced plenty which are still to this day under priced, but how I see it now is there a loyal customer, they take me no time at all as there all mint and I will choose to up them one day in the future perhaps.

Now I have built up a reputation of very OCD cleaning and going perhaps the extra mile compared to many in my area I am charging prices I'm happy with that are generally a few quid more than most around me, the customer is happy to be on my round, I am happy with what I am earning and will never need to worry about having not enough customers, I think you can push too far which might be great to start with, but I'd always feel they have other options unlike now where nearly all mine are settled and very happy.

Another costing factor will be your outlay into the business, how many bills you have each month, staffing & if you have a big mortgage or are lucky to not have one.

I generally bid high for one off jobs and do mostly get them, but window cleaning I tend to be a bit higher than average but not expensive.

I lost two today, next door neighbors, had them since week 1, they always pay for each other, 2 bed terraces, 2 windows front and door, 2 windows back and door.

She pays me and says thank you no more, my nephew is going to do them.

I ask 'why is he starting a window round?'

She says he isn't just heard they were paying £8 each and that's too much so he will do them instead.

They have never had a price rise from me and others on that street are paying £10 & £12

I never put it up as I figured nice old lady, someones granny! Well that someone just screwed all the other grannies! If he wants to take food from me now I have a 'Price is price' policy with no exceptions. The charitable side of me is done.

I had a similar one like that about a year back. Bungalow with conny at £12 every 4 weeks. Nice old lady, been doing it years, cuppa and a chat every time, then she says "this will be the last clean." Oh why I asked. My nephew is short of money and he's going to be doing them from now on. I was fuming, I handed my half full cuppa back asked for payment, finished off and left. Now if her nephew was so short of cash, could she not have given him £3 a week and kept me on to clean them properly?
