Building up a round

Can you get out of it?
Yes I told them I was cancelling 2 months ago and they talked me round the thing is I like it and can edit myself but it's frustrating when you don't get one single enquiry from someone visiting it even if I had one enquiry I would be optimistic.

I only started my company this week, Monday and Tuesday I didn't have my business tshirts or hoodies (uniform) got a few jobs by knocking on doors but what a difference uniform makes, Wednesday and Thursday I walked knocking on doors from 10am to 7pm and got 63 sign ups in two days, I admit I'm knackered never done so much walking but it just shows showing your face and uniform looking professional unlike the £2 front only guys in dirty vest tops makes. Very happy with the result and response from people's, specially the houses with a notice no cold callers most who actually answered said they've never had a window cleaner knock and I signed some up. Just shows even notices say no knocking, still knock them, every house who didn't answer got a flyer (no calls as yet)

what are the keywords you are trying to rank for?
I've used loads window cleaning Birmingham, window cleaning then loads of districts, fascia cleaning soffit con roof blah blah blah..................a whole ******* Oxford dictionary of it.

Do they do website building too I had one of the build your own site but wasn't very good so I deleted it. Now thinking of paying someone to do it and once again its costly up front. Is it better to build your own then get a company to host it

Mine isn't ranking well either, it did then it doesn't seem to be again. At the end of the day if this ranking goes on all this **** surely each and every other website owner is going to have it done to keep.theirs ranking well so imo it's a waste of time

When I had my site I looked at the states of what areas was clicking on my site lol mostly in USA Australia even had Hong Kong 2 percent was from the uk. Now I wouldn't mind having work in them areas if they wanna pay for tickets as well as my work but I did think I get more from the uk looking at my site lol

I agree why is it hit and miss? One day you are on there the next not what's that all about that's no good I generate more on facebook bumped it this morning on 3 group pages changed a photo and added text BOOM got a text as a result wants a regular monthly clean I will always have a website just won't bother with hosting stick the website on leaflets and fb links it's still good to have one to show potential customers.

Well that's what I really want mine for is for payments. And plenty of customers have been saying oh you do online payments that would suit us bla bla I'm the winner lol. Altho at the same time I would like new custom /emoticons/biggrin.png

It'll come mate, the two go hand in hand.

Having a payment tab helps I think. I get a lot of people clicking my site just to pay.
TolishAPurd is your site a e-commerces webpage then to have a payment tab ? Never got how they pay on there bill on a window cleaning website

When you say you've used loads why do you keep changing them? You need to dedicate a page per keyword then optimise it for that keyword. If you were to use the keyword "window cleaning birmingham: it's hardly surprising you canT rank with just basic on site optimization. It depends on competition for the keyword and that one will be so high you won't get up there without off site work such as blogging and back links. If you just want to rank for local towns it should be easier but it depends what so has been done. I would suggest either starting again with WordPress and learning or much less hassle hand it over to someone who knows what they're doing. It eould be worthwhile checking competion for your keywords to give an indication of what needs to be done. As an example my website ranks top 4 for window cleaning wakefield but only page 3 for window cleaning leeds. Same amount of seo just the competition for leeds is far higher. I'm not bothered as I don't clean windows in leeds currently so I've just let it stay but if I wanted to improve it I would have to constantly be in top of it.

ive never printed a leaflet or had a website

canvassing has worked for me, if u are a little nervous, then just force yourself to do it, the more u do it the easier it feels, also done prep a big speech, just ask if they would like a window cleaner, and go from there

How can you stay on top of something? Surely it would have been done to the best of your ability anyway??

I have a PayPal tab on my website which simply links to my account. Anyone that does website can sort that out for you. My PayPal is pretty much my business account bar the odd eBay purchase. Very easy for accounting too.

because to get a website to the top of the ranking for your keywords (unless the keywords have little competition) requires ongoing effort not a one off build the site and forget it. You have to stay ahead of your competitors who are also trying to rank higher, and if they all know what they are doing then it makes it even harder as you are competing with others who are putting the effort im. Google ranks you on relevance, so content, updates, social media, backlinks, google plus reviews amongst other algorithms that are constantly changing. If googles ranking algorithms change and other website owners are on the changes and youre not there site will rank higher.

If your keyword has a lower competiton the less work you have to do.

The bottom line is this : If a website better satisfies googles ranking algorithms then yours does you will rank lower.
