I only started my company this week, Monday and Tuesday I didn't have my business tshirts or hoodies (uniform) got a few jobs by knocking on doors but what a difference uniform makes, Wednesday and Thursday I walked knocking on doors from 10am to 7pm and got 63 sign ups in two days, I admit I'm knackered never done so much walking but it just shows showing your face and uniform looking professional unlike the £2 front only guys in dirty vest tops makes. Very happy with the result and response from people's, specially the houses with a notice no cold callers most who actually answered said they've never had a window cleaner knock and I signed some up. Just shows even notices say no knocking, still knock them, every house who didn't answer got a flyer (no calls as yet)

People see your business in a whole other league when you go from plain clothes to uniform/signed and clean van etc.

Regardless its only a 1 or 2 man operation . In my 16 yrs i Would say the first 5-6 was in partially plain clothes , back Then it seemed harder to justify your prices , Imo people Saw me as less experienced .

I was lucky on my uniform as I have a friend who is a printer who done me a great mates rates deal on my flyers, my sign writing and uniform, what a difference it makes.

Thanks but I'm a window cleaner not a computer geek I have no idea what you are saying that's why I'm paying them.
It might serve you well to at least do a bit of research then as it strikes me you don't really know what you are paying for. Did they tell you they would get you top rankings for 30 a month? Or are you just expecting it with no idea of what's involved. Whilst no seo company can guarantee top rankings, to get anywhere close depends on factors they should have discussed with you and if competition is high will cost you far more than 30 a month. If competition isn't high you could do it for less. But you need to speak to some company's tell them exactly what you want in the first place.

Poles,

I'm Birmingham based and Roger Needle as you know has a massive presence In Sutton Coldfield and surrounding areas. He spends a fortune on his website, via google addwords and seo. As suggested earlier, google works on "spiders" and needs to be continually updated, new videos, photos, content etc, you really have to be on the ball.

Personally, even though I'm up there on various Midland pages I only use it for reference. For domestic customers, print and delivery is my fav option and for commercial Docmail is the most productive. Fortunately after 18 years in business, recommendations are suffice.

I would be very careful about spending any money on google and the like. In my experience it performs the least well compared to listing with trade bodys or even directory advertising. Building a good website based word press or similar, customer reviews and updates will work better. I always go for organic internet listings. Combined with traditional leaflets
