If you get stuck mate /emoticons/wink.png
Yeah i can sell them to buy a van lol

Nice collection mate. Are they the new ones you were gonna order or the metal band ones?

Metal banded ones, got a new one being delivered tomorrow. That's the new extreme clamp anywhere pole.

Just thinking mate, we have an slx 25 that we are gonna sell soon, Just needs upgrading to new clamps and getting rid of all that bloody stop tape! Could ask my old man how much he wants for it ?

If that's the one i was using before then yeah I'll have it for the right price

You'll have to let me know by midweek though as i will be ordering all my stuff

I can upgrade the clamps easy enough

I cant' remember what the wear was like on it, its probably done about a months work over a 4 years lol.

Will have a look tomorrow night /emoticons/smile.png and let you know. It just needs the stop tape re doing as it was horrible.

I used a CL-X18 extensively for about 18 months and have now used an SL-X18 for nearly two years and my obs are as follows: If both poles are fitted with a fairly light brush and you're pretty fit you won't notice much difference in weight whilst using it at low level. You probably will though if you tend to suffer from RSI in the wrists easily. The weight difference becomes more noticeable when extended especially when reaching over conny roofs. There is, for me anyway a noticeable difference in rigidity between the two poles my favorite being the more rigid SL-X as it requires less effort to use.

One area there was a big difference between them is in ease of use as they wore down. My SL-X has now been used much longer than the CL-X but is still very smooth to operate. The CL-X is still a good pole but is much less smooth to operate now.

My favorite, the SL-X!

Is this only for the consideration of Gardiners poles? You could go for the equally as good, and like for like lighter, Viper poles.

I do like SLX and I like Vipers just as much. Having owned both though if it was coming down to a cost consideration it would have to be Viper. You cant tell the difference and they're always 10% cheaper.

I understand brand loyalty and all that blah blah blah but when it comes to equal brands I am loyal to my wallet.

£80 difference equals 2 - 3 hours work to have a superior pole that's lighter and will last longer. Seems a no brainer to me davieboy

Need to see the bigger picture. You can add extensions to an slx and technically clean solar panels with it. Would be hard todo that on an CLX.

At 18ft the clx will be fine you won't notice the extra weight or flex at that height.Once you start to go above 20ft or using it above extensions or con roofs then weight and rigidness become important.

My personal opinion is always get the best you can afford to make your working life easier and more enjoyable.

waterfed pole work puts a lot of strain on your body like shoulders and back a good pole can help reduce rsi.

I have just started using extreme poles and for me its one of the best investments I made.

I know everyone will say get an slx but i am just updating a load of my kitJust about to order v3 backpack and bits'n'pieces and a load of new moerman stuff as i am enjoying tradding bottoms at the moment just as quick as i can wfp them on maintenance cleans (oops going off on a tangent now)

Anyway i have a 30ft fibreglass pole which i use for 3rd floor stuff and most of my work i can reach with an 18ft

Comparing slx and clx weight wise there is only roughly 100grams in it

Anyone used a small clx and how flexible are they??
I have used a CLX for must be 8 months I guess? been absolutely spot on, buying another in the next few weeks as we have two set ups and using my old fibreglass thing again until we get another CLX.

What would be best for every day use hard slx18 or the slx22 would the 22 make much difference in weight general use as where I live there is a few dorma Windows which are quite high up and worried the slx18 might not quite reach them.

Thinking about getting a backpack for some hard to reach Windows.

Den.
