im in the process of putting new van together

This time I don't want downpipe guttering inside van and looking for ways to carry poles on roof

Any one else do this and how

Thanks

Couple of options I am looking at as looking at doing the same.

You can get those tool clips with a nice plastic covering, they are cheap as chips, bolt straight to your roof bars.

The other option is those industrial strength twist grip things.

Other than that a drain pipe on roof rack.

I did think of the bike carriers, they have a perfect looking part to them, but couldn't find one perfect for holding poles.

Cheers matey

I rang exceed liked the look of the pole pods but they have discontinued them

I wouldn't mind putting downpipe on roof and then it can be wrapped to match van

How do you stop the poles sliding out I between jobs lol

I haven't done it, but my solution would just be a bolt top and bottom and a short bungee around the brush.

It's prolly simple but you no when you over think something

I was thinking 3 downpipes screws directly into roof rack with clips

Slide poles in like do in back off van

They all will be tubeless

But need a solution as to what stops them sliding out when accelerating

Won't something quick though because we do a lot off estates and poles on off all time

Most people I have seen use tubes on the roof remove the brush between jobs and screw a lid on them.

Way to slow for me mind, I think I would do as I said above with a bungee, though I think I am going to go with the clips, possibly with a tube as well when the day ends, use the clips for the quick between jobs storage.

Maybe you could get some foam, like the foam you put around pipes to stop them freezing, line the tube with that and glue it in, then when you slide the pole in it would be a fairly tight fit and not slide out?

Gutter pipe with cap on 1 end

Bolt a metal u shaped piece of metal on the open end so that it pivots

Put pole in

Pull over u shaped bar so it is over the end of the brush

Not going anywhere

If that makes sense

That's my thinking anyway

Not a bad idea that, would need a solution to stop it rattling about when no pole in it but I like that.

Just off the top of my head but it should work

Put some sort of bolt through the pipe also to use as a stop so the bar stops before it swings past and off the other end of the brush

Ive just been painting the new ply line in van and went to install the fire extinguisher, this is the bracket

Has I tighten the screws into he wood it pulled the clamp part together and I thought perfect lol

So if you mount this to roof bar, tighten self tappers till it pulls the clamp as tight as you need them slide the downpipe from it(it fits I've checked)the little self tapper to hold downpipe it's perfect don't even see the bracket because it's below pipe

It's secure as well
