Did a regular customer today but 1st time she had gutters cleared /clean and did all that plus sum under porches and said don't worry bout extra, then at da end cum out saying how silly that I didn't sweep up dirt that didn't make bucket hardly any btw and was wet so no point sweeping and so small cud not pick up so wipe it with wet cloth. Annoying and still didn't even say thanks saying I won't get big jobs if don't sweep. Do any of u guys sweep?

after doing a gutter job ALWAYS,it makes them feel there getting value for money, especially when you go in with a high price!!!its always a good habit to get in to anyway-for further work

I dry I sweep and if wet I rinse down with hose.

Until you see the point of doing it perfectly every time you just wont get it.

Like quoting a customer for window cleaning from a quick glance, you then turn up and paint spot every where. Whos fault? Yours!! You should have looked closer, you quoted to clean the windows, not to simply clean them to a certain standard, clean is clean that is all there i to that.

Shoe on other foot, had you swept up and taken the extra 5 mins it takes she would be saying to friends 'Oh nice led, he even swept the drive after!'

Never brush up , in fact if there's a bush I lash the Moss into it from the gutter /emoticons/tongue.png

Or just throw it over next doors garden. They will never know where it came from if they're at work.

That's the one that bugs me

"I'm paid to wash the glass not scrape paint off"

No you're paid to clean the window which means all of the dirt/paint/bug spots etc

What does 'don't worry about extra' mean? Did you do them for free?

No didn't do em for free charged £50 to clean and £40 to clear but then asked to me to clean wood arches holding up porches and said how much extra but I said Il do that for free

I guess Il lookout for a broom never before in 10years windows have I had people get funny about it as I always clear up main dirt or moss

Always sweep up the moss and **** after the gutter clears and if the gutter juice splashes onto the Windows I'll clean them too, even if I'm not their window cleaner.

I always clean up after gutter cleaning even do the windows if you make or leave mess behind they won't want you back and won't pass your name on to their friends

Sweep? Whats that lol… If using the gutter vac then it goes in there, which then gets emptied in there garden waste bin, if doing off the ladder it goes in a bucket and in the bin, and big clumps of moss etc I lob down in the flower beds, I prob could sweep up if I made any mess but I don't carry a broom, never had any complaints.

I always tidy up.

Mind you if I've priced too cheap or not bothered about repeat work I'll do what I can get away with lol.

Never clean paint of glass either. If it doesn't come off with wfp it stays on

Must admit I don't bother to scrape paint myself unless asked lol

I actually got moaned at today by an old windie. Was minding my own, doing a first clean on a new custy and busy cleaning down the frames before getting on with the glass and this voice behind me shouts "your mean to be cleaning the effin Windows not the frames!" Turns round and there standing about 20 yards away is an old boy with a round bucket, shitey old wooden ladder and a makeshift BOAB. I starts to laugh and says I'm a window cleaner mate not a glass cleaner, "well your giving us a bad name and everyone will expect that if they see you!" And grumbled something indistinguishable and walked on. Had a right chuckle to myself for a while after that.

Totally agree skulblaker window includes frames and sills. I cant understand why Windies leave them but I know a lot round here do. Good for me though as I have picked up a few canvassing on one particular estate near me as they had a windie and when they found out I would do frames and sills every time included they switched to me so happy days
