Ive woken up this morning to find this has gone way way off topic...

Not sure how membership of a trade/political body or not has much bearing on 200 year old slavery, black or otherwise...

To lighten the mood - I've bought my first Liquidator..../emoticons/smile.png

So if you were sold an african slave it makes it ok to buy one ?
I didnt say it was just the english, i said white

Because they are warm and sunny, not dark, rainy and depressing for a start.
Dark and depressive? Jeez, this isn't Siberia. We get sprins and summers

And as for depressive, life is what you make it. Whistle while you work and enjoy life. If you cant be happy in this country, I personally think the depression is the person, not the location

Not even in the slightest mate........but here's my question.....How many years must I spend paying for something I never did?

I never enslaved anyone, I never persecuted anyone but cause I am white male 'English speaking' I am tarred with the same brush ad those from hundreds of years ago that did.
Not at all. No one said it's your fault or anyone else's fault.

The only reason I brought up slavery was in response to why black people seem to celebrate being black, mobo awards etc.

Probably because of their history and the way they were oppressed, now they have equal rights may give them cause to be proud from where they came from.

The same with women and all this girl power stuff, that stemmed from years of being a sub species to males.

There is a big difference here though, Norway is proven fact as that is what has happened, the other is guess work. You can fish up figures saying the exact opposite to that.

This is the thing though isn't it, no one really knows what the hell we gain from the EU, its all guess work, because none of it is transparent.

Why not stay in, keep your British identity, shake up the Union and lead from the front?

Be strong, don't run away.

Really? We have no power in the EU none, there is no leverage. France and Germany vote together on everything we have zero power control.

This is the problem...

Figures can be fished up to say whatever you want - to both leave AND stay.

Ex Bank of England leader Mervin King says leave!

Current Bank of England manager Mark Carney says stay!

How the heck are the British public supposed to decide what to do???

Norway is not a good example to compare us against. Small population, large sovereign wealth fund because of their oil, and much lower levels of public and private debt compared to the UK. They are more able to ride an economic storm than us

Where I come from, you deal with problems, you don't just turn your back and run away. But hey, each to their own.

Isn't that literally the exact opposite? We can't deal with our problems so please Germany solve them for us please sir

A friend of mine put it well the other week "we have to many people watching jordy shore and scared if we leave the EU they won't able to get a blow dry anymore"
