Spiders don't normally bother me but when this thing crawled out from under a window frame every orifice in my body instantly closed up.

As you can see from the brickwork it's not particularly big but still moved quick.. As for that huntsman spider, that's a whole different League.

It's when you walk through a nest of those tiny green things and find yourself covered in hundreds of em that gets me. In my hair, down my neck and abseiling of my peaked cap. Ridiculous really, such tiny things yet they creep us out. I often wonder what they'd say to each other about us if they could talk. Makes me smile

I don't like them either insects are good but not spiders, but at least I don't have hair to worry about lol.

I don't mind spiders at all

The wife likes to wake me up at 2am screaming about a spider in the loo so i have to go get rid of it

I usually pick them up in my hand and drop out the window or front door but she is then scared they will come back like they have some sort of vengeance against her so wants me to kill them for doing absolutely nothing

I too would have been scared. Hate the things
Plus that looks like a false widow to me. Foreign thing with a nasty bite

Steatoda nobilis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mate got bit by a false widow and the swelling completely covered his forearm

The hospital insisted they monitored the size of the swelling and measure it regularly

None of our native spiders have fangs that will puncture our skin i have been told but these "immigrants" can be a bit tasty

Mostly true, but you can get bit by the big house spiders as well, I know because I have been.

That above definitely looks like a false widow for sure.

Had a girl pal helping me clean today, she seriously point blank refused to wipe away spiders webs and nests (cos they were living beings apparently). Then about cried when she had to eventually wipe away said spiders nest, and was told we were not on green peace patrol today!

Offered a post clean counselling session but I think she's just about recovered now.

think i mentioned recently iv a small collection of tarantulas. live in our bedroom on a desk, each in its own tank

anyhow the other night i dreamed one was on my face. i woke from this nitemare to realize im not dreaming, summat IS on my face

i swatted it off and turned on the light ,i was sweating, i mean some of these spiders bite repeatedly so iv read

but it wasnt a spider it was a small cricket thats usually fed to spiders ,had escaped and found me

That made me laugh, I had a tarantula when was 15. Borrowed my mates ni card as ID, which was good enough to buy a hairy spider from pets at home or whatever it was.

Well this thing scared the sh/it outta me one time, and av dropped it on the bedroom floor. Mums heard me and my brother freaking, trying to find the thing.

Mum found out about our little secret spider and it sadly had to be returned!

i was terrified of em when i started window cleaning but when your face to face at the top of a ladder there's nowhere to run screaming too so you have to cope, now years later i can even pick them up & i really did used to run screaming from them lmao

I hurt my elbow badly this week cause of a flippin spider.

I was trying to get a beastly cobweb out with the WFP and it wouldn't budge so put my hand out to pinch it out when a massive spider crawled out......I pulled my arm away as quick as poss but caught the funny bone on the wall whilst doing so - feckin hurt.
