Another thing to be deeply concerned about is the stinking fact that peter lilleys private company IDOX is in charge of all election votes and counts, this includes the general elections and the scottish elections.Peter lilley is a tory MP this is crazy and should be stopped no wonder a lot of people are saying it will be rigged

Its a serious issue for sure.

the unions seem to be wanting to stay in, its a lot of years since i was a union man & thatcher killed them, but they did a lot of good for workers, so anyone know why they think staying in is best ? i mean being in the eu hasn't helped anyone forced into zero hrs slavery.

No idea, follow the money.

Latest stats on jobs is over 400k new jobs created last year, guess how many of them went to none British workers? 80%

Its most likely as 'Solarpanelcleangt' says - employment law.

Such rights such as maternity rights, paternity rights, equal treatment for full time and part-time and agency workers and the right to paid holiday sickness pay, limits on working excess hours - all the sort of things that british workers have come to take for granted would have a question mark over them....

Im not saying (or the unions saying for that matter) that they'd be taken away but they'd be under threat of change.

Anyone who trusted the likes of Iain Duncan Smith, Boris Johnson etc with workers rights needs their head examined. If a right-wing government has an unrestricted, unchecked opportunity to negotiate workers rights then they'll grab it with both hands.

None of this would affect us lot as we're self employed...

Workers rights is NOT from the EU they are law in Britain, the only workers rights laws from the EU are agency staff laws. That's it.

You are not allowed to ask a woman at an intervie if shes pregnant or planning on getting pregnant.

You could give a job to a woman whos six months pregnant and before shes learnt how to do the job shes off for the next 18 months and getting paid. Lunacy.

What happens when the EU bring in a law we don't want, don't agree with or completely messes us up?

Nothing happens as we can't do anything about it.

If our own government do that and we are out guess what? we can sack them and get someone else in who can change it.

Thy did the same with Transit and moved it from Britain to Turkey with EU funds.

But yeah, the EU is great for British workers, not forgetting 80% of all new jobs here go to none British workers.

Yeah, those pesky pregnant women![emoji6]

Even worse is if one of those damn employees wants a holiday or even God forbid gets poorly and STILL wants paying [emoji13]

Use all the sarcasm you can muster lad, a point is a point.

I have had female employees and at the end of the day maternity leave is BS an could destroy a small business.

There is actually an upward trend in pregnant women seeking work as they now know that they only need do a few months then get a year and a half wages for naff all.

To be honest I also disagree with holiday pay, why should you get paid for not working? Save up so you can afford the time off!

It may be rather scrooge like but at the end of the day all the BS a small employer has to pay out for is a total joke and the reason it is so hard to get anything off the ground.

I understand your point and its difficult to work round...

Difficult if you're on low wages and all your money goes on rent etc....

No holiday prospects is depressing

5 out of 6 laws introduced in the uk are made in brussels which begs the question why do we need any political party in the uk they should all be made redundant they are shooting themselves in the foot.

Check ONS (official national statistics ) 80% is fact.
Thanks for that- just checked it - i remember the Daily mail quoted this figure and then had to retract it as its not correct.

In fact, the Office for National Statistics does not even measure job creation or “new jobs” as you call them.

makes a cracking 'Get out of the EU headline' though.... /emoticons/biggrin.png
