Conservatory roof nightmare!

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I would use a gardiners flocked for the whole lot. .scrubs a lot better than a stiff brush

i agree do a degree:D flocked if beta but for stubern fly poo bee pollon u cant beat a stiff mono even a super lite meadium is good with hot i found the flocked wouldent tuch bee pollon or fly poo were a stiff would wip it off in seconds not shore about piggon poo tho !!

Conservatory roofs are the worst part of this job. I do them to keep regular, maintenance clean customers happy but I reckon it lets the cat out of the bag regarding my hourly rate. People don't seem to mind paying £10 for a fifteen minute window clean but you can see the cogs going in their head when they're paying £120 for a three hour connie roof clean. They're much harder graft then all the regular cleaning, especially the clear glass. I'm thinking a connie roof ladder might save a lot of time, get up there with the Porcupine sleeve on and give it a good soaky scrub, that's what I do on window first cleans which seems much more effective than a WFP first clean.

Only way to do conny roofs efficently.

Yes we have done dozens by WFP alone so we do know.

This one was a minger and took just two hours (roof and sides) as he was told to go slow.

Soapy water, scrubbing brush, squeegee and some rags and all set.

The conny ladder is something I wish we had added 3 years ago.

We no longer WFP connys and do them all by hand as it's a shed load easier to get a quality finish quickly.

How much did you charge for that roof Green?

I quoted a conny roof tonight, a right minger. The customer told me that they had someone else clean it a couple of years back and he used a conny ladder and took 4 hours

As soon as my round is full no more con Roofs or Fascias more money in Windows l may do Fascias for regulars but must be annually
I just do them for regular customers once or twice a year. Charge the same price regardless of whether the gutters are empty or full. Get up to £60 an hour on those where as window cleaning is more like £30-40 so it's swings and roundabouts.

Conserve roofs are a PITA though. Avoid them as much as poss!

Really?! I actually don't mind doing them it's more money plus I love the way they look after I've cleaned up and the customer is always so happy the way they come up. They're always reluctant when I give them the price, but delighted afterwards when they see the Ubik UPVC magic [emoji106]

Yeah I just find them bloody awkward most of the time. And all the bits that collect under the top decorative UPVC is a pain.

Can't say I've ever enjoyed a conservatory roof job although they do look nice when complete. Did this one last week...

Yeah, nice job! I do know what you mean thou, Bro! :) It is a pain in the **** getting "those bits" underneath the central decor bit. I'm sure it has a proper name lol and seems to take an eternity to rinse bits down.

Central decor bit = finial

I enjoy them but just don't get time at the moment

Easy money job

A Finial! Well there you go - you learn something new every day! I always find the thought of doing them worse than actually doing them!
