Want a composite/hybrid pole to replace my Unger Nlite Aluminium thing...

Seems to be a toss up between the two of these:

New Water Genie Barracuda 22ft Hybrid Pole

PhoeniX MkII 'PRO' Hybrid

Anybody got these, or have conveniently tried out both? Price wise they're quite similar for 22ft, but the Baraccuda comes with a brush and goose neck (although I do have these and will alternate with the Unger one as I find it excellent) and the Phoenix needs an additional £30 odd to make it equal.

I got the 27ft barracuda and i love it! Only used it for 2 days but its lovely to use. Plus its already tubless, which makes life easier.

What have you got?
I only use gardiner poles . (slx as daily poles) because they take the beating we give them everyday , day in day out and they last use around a year and a half before we bin them

we never clean them , never look after them , bend them in two shutting windows , we don't care if we catch them on the side of buildings when cleaning out of the way windows , alex would die if he ever seen what we did with them but yet they have never let us down once and that's what you need to thing about above what ever else

Yeah you are one of many that use those. Every time I've looked they aren't in stock so I gave up trying!

Yeah you're the reason I googled them! Good value poles. How you getting on? Got a fixed backpack now?
Not yet, however im borrowing a mates for a couple of jobs, ive used the pole on a gutter clean over a conny, plus the conny roof today, was a challenge as i used the whole 27ft and it is a bit flexible like that, but usable once you get used to it. Plus its a good price.

If I was you I would go straight for carbon!! More expensive but it makes your day a lot easier. Loads easier to control you don't have to worry about it waving around like a floppy c*ck

I have the slx 18 and slx22 plus the no.6 extension used that for the first time today town house love the poles saying that I don't have any experience with any other poles got these on the numerous recommendations and glad I did.

good choice i have the slx22 and its bin grate mine gets hammerd chucked about droped ect and its over a year old still going

If going carbon fibre may be worth looking at the water genie viper, @Green Pro Clean Ltd uses one and a slx so he may be able to give an insight into if theres a difference, i know the viper is cheaper though
Had a look. 5ft less reach for about £25 less money. £215 vs £240. Everyone rants and raves about Gardiners so I'm going to give that a go once there's stock.

Cheers amigo!

I have had my slx25 for 2 and half years only had to glue one clamp back on a few weeks ago, been a great pole, also got extensions 6 and 7 for it, these extensions can go on the slx22 seemingly. The slx22 is a bit shorter in the collapsed length, which will go in my van better I hope.
