Good morning all.

I've recently acquired a customer with a decent sized patio, approx 90m2 which is rife with black spot lichen, its the bane of his life and he will happily pay to have it taken off, problem is from experience I know that the pressure washer alone will only temporarily make a difference to it if it takes it off at all (21lpm 3000psi, still dosent take the **** off) Hypo would help but with the fact he's all about the environment he is reluctant to let me use anything other than water.

Ive used a product called patio magic with limited success and am currently looking into wet and forget as a solution, has anyone any experience with wet and forget or a similar product for dealing with this stuff without resorting to hypo?

Cheers

Ben

Likes of things to be used is all chems but it's one of them things mate can't please all folk. If the Eco warrior wants it rid tell him go away for the weekend and ask no questions of How removed it

benz biocide will remove the black lichen over time mate, its relatively cheap and comes pre mixed ready to dilute for use,the added bonus with this is that you could make a date the following year to call back and re-apply to keep everything nice and lichen free,

Some jobs are not worth taking on Ben tell him honestly the results you expect to achieve with pressure washer alone and when he agrees carry on if not leave it

Contains SH. (Or renamed equivilant)

Just be level with the customer. Do a square with just the PW (don't go overboard on it, no kore rhan you'd normally do. Show him an give him the hard facts. That's as good as you can do without chemical.

Wet an forget will do the job over a few months and depending how bad it is you may need to re-apply it in 6 months time to get it really clean. Their product is all about being environMENTALly friendly which this customer should get along with just fine.

He just needs to know he will not get instant results.

benz biocide contains ddac as one of its ingredients green pro, please please please don't say it has sh in it as someone somewhere would take your advice and add a bit of sh into it "for that added bite",what that will create is for want of a better word is mustard gas which killed and maimed thousands of british troops in the trenches during the first world war, ddac and sh do not mix-ever-period full stop,i probably seem like i'm going over the top on this or being arsey but guys do not mix sh with ddac-ever

I used Benz bio this week for first time absolutely brilliant stuff

They says give at a few days to work but customer was delighted on day 1

No hypo in it

Saying that there's prob some other deadly chemical in it I expect

Not a chance.

I got some hoddies, winters coming. Come sit in a small hotel and listen to me waffle for a while and you can have one for just £295. Total bargain compared to the softwash tshirt! I'll toss in limp sandwiches and a coffee for lunch to help you feel you got a bit more value. /emoticons/smile.png
