Univalve problems

First is to recalibrate the controller to reduce your pressure. (Flow is how much water the pump is pumping and pressure is how much force is directed to the water to push it through the hose at the required flow. So although linked they are two separate functions on the controller.)

Instructions will be in with the controller.

Reducing the pressure will probably be enough to stop the Hozeloks being blown off though.

On my van mount I have only 1 plastic Hozelok hose connector left. All the others have been replaced with brass 'Hozelok' connectors. The only plastic Hozelok connector remaining is the one that pushes onto the brass connector on my hose reel. A brass conector wears the brass tap connector out too quickly whereas the plastic one doesn't.

Hey hey hayyyyy!!! So I've got a pure freedom trolley....it's got a digital flow control (think that's important/the problem) when I pull the univalve and it totally blows the hozelock off. What do I do???!

I had the same thing on my PF trolley.

Perform the autocal as spruce says so as to reduce the operating pressure to only what is necessary. Then replace your hozeloc connector on the trolley. The internal clips that hold the male part in place tend to break off. Once that happens the male part won't stay in place under pressure. Ie, when you close the univalve.

I usually carry spare hozeloc connectors for just this reason.

I've also found that the 'genuine' Hozelok connectors with three locating lugs are the best. Most cheap alternatives just have 2 locating lugs. I remember being surprised to see some Hozeloks in B & Q once that also had 2 lugs. This is something I also look for.

Do check those little lugs inside the hozeloc on your trolley. If one of them has broken it likely won't stay connected for long in use. It shouldn't come undone even at max pressure.

I would honestly have thought that 'turning' the pressure up or increasing it would make the problem worse.
