Seems a lot of people are secretive about soft washing

Over the next few week I'm goin to put on a few tips I think are helpful

Seems a lot of people really struggle with mossy roofs and get up there and scrape, which is very hard, slow going work and if that was me I'd sooner low pressure wash the whole roof while I'm up there,it kind of defeats the object off what soft washing is about!A roof I'm due to clean next month I removed a couple off really mossy tiles on Monday did a 7% percent hypo mix

Sprayed tiles left them till this morning then rinsed with a fine jet and they moss just slid off easily in seconds

I think with the stronger enough mix the moss almost crumbles like a powder if you feel it

When I treat the roof I will spray but the mix contains interflora and fairy platinum as a surfacent, tried all kinds and find this sticks better than anything else

Interflora ? I done it once .. But just went white .. And hard to scrape off lol. But u left it .. Maybe try that on a roof I got on Saturday

Ye soaked the tiles up and left

I wished after I'd done a quick vid but I will next time

No effect on tile has I have a new tile that needs replacing very very slight difference in colour

Been looking at the benz soft wash site now and then. Thats interesting you left mixture on for so long, seagulls bleaching their feet:rolleyes: Thats great it worked though, clever chap. Video would be good in sharing your handy work:thumbsup:

Usually on roofs I rinse the on the day

This is experiment as to removing moss and the strengths needed

I'm doing a lot off research at the mo into all these chemicals as it seems rather black area

That's why I removed the tiles

I'm also looking into ways off the run off hypo being put into containers which will be mounted at the bottom off all downpipes

Seems another area where I think massive fines will be dished out for people caught letting there hypo slip down the waterways

I don't think anyone is being secretive really - it was just a bit of leg pulling by Peter ( I think ? )

A few went on the course so obviously when you spend a fair amount of money your going to be a bit protective at first try and get few quid back while you can

There's no secrets though and I am happy to share what I learned

So do you channel the hypo

How does the lay flat thingy work lol and what's it go into

If you got a delicate area of garden or house you can channel the hypo into somewhere that it won't cause damage

We used on a big house just poured into mains in street

Can't see us getting done

Using biocide more now anyway but I doubt that's any safer tbh

This is what concerns me

Hypo down drains

I'm not sure yet on the ins and out

But I no it's on the dangerous chemical list

I'm digging round for more info

Yes by law your not meant to let it go down drains

Don't really concern me as who is going to notice ? Just flush it with tap constant flow

downstreamed hypo onto this roof, 2% roughly, it definately killed it all off but didnt do much to the clumps of moss or black lichens, had to just jetwash the whole lot in the end.
