Advice needed. 35 foot pole: Gardiner SLX or Phoenix MKII ?

I always giggle about people that go for the cheapest poles bet there the first people to tell there customers that the cheap guys are cowboys and don't do a go job lol

I never look at any other poles as ive had top service out of my slxs it was just the next step to buy extremes and the ulters after that

mine the wife did have a little moan when speeding just short of 5k on two poles lol but when working at high levels you need the best stuff , as shoulder burn out cost money no good losing money because your hurting all day and have to go home early of slowing down because your tried again this all needs to be took off the price of these top end poles ,

when we changed from the slxs to the xtreme I found me and the lads could do 3/5 extra jobs on the same days work as before making it easyer on both me and them this in turn make me more money and help pay for the pole quicker , its all about money at the end of the day and how quick you can start earning profit back on your investment without spending money of fixing or mentaining your investment

Thank you all for the comments and it definitely helped me to make up my mind.

Just checked prices and SLX is only 50£ more expensive that Viper and since I am getting all my brushes and fittings from Gardiner anyway the choice is clear here. /emoticons/smile.png

Im glad you found my insight amusing but all i was saying is that if there are 2 poles that are similar standard then ill go for the cheaper. Im by no means a 'cowboy' or cheap, and dislike cowboys as they have a detrimental effect on peoples perceptions, however i wont bad mouth them in public. Theyre still trying to make a living. I am on average 25-50% more expensive then the majority round by me, so neither am i cheap. You say about buying 5k of poles as if it was nothing, when for people who havent been in the game long dont have the disposable income, i certainly dont. I had to scrape every spare penny to afford my backpack and hybrid pole, surely you remember the early days where it was hard work making a living? I was saying i have used and like water genie poles and heard good thing about the slx, therefore im open to whichever one happens to save me a few £. I know there are other cheaper brands but id rather go with one that i know is a good brand and one that comes with good recommandations. I understand brand loyalty but in the end its a product, they do the same job, both are of very high standards and whichever is the best deal at the time i will get. Not all but a fair few who use gardiners pole havent used another brand so thay recommend using them regardless. That was my point, hope ive managed to clear that up for you.

Plus the viper is lighter so according to your arguement of weight it would be better for high level work

Im not looking at getting something for nothing, id just rather save a few quis and spend money on what is important i.e family. As for poles water genie poles over 40ft are called stingray, and the highest they go to is 61ft, 61ft-high-mod-carbon-fibre-pole-5255-p.asp Over that im not sure if you can get extensions if you ask but 90% of windys dont go that high, so for the average person that point is irrelevant. As previously stated ive never used gardiners poles, and im sure that over that size they are probs the best in the market. Im just saying that for my needs the water genie pole is better value for money, and from experience and an UNBIASED opinion, just as good. But if gardiners poles are cheaper or on offer when i upgrade then ill buy one instead

Really has gotten rather boring.

Opinions have been offered and the OP has heard all we have to say.

He will no doubt take what info he wants and base a descision on that.

Not everyone has £5k to spend on 2 poles, not everyone needs to reach 80ft.

Budget and requirement will be the deciding factors.

And in the interest of full disclosure I have never once said anything other than Gardiners poles are excellent.
