Attitude and general hotness play a major part in it /emoticons/wink.png

My minimum price depends on area. New builds is £8 (2 front windows,no side windows, rear top window and a patio door) Other areas i get as much as i can i guess.

I don't charge people pence either /emoticons/wink.png That will be 7.83p please :rofl::rofl:

Had been highlighting work in blue that av wanted to replace with better priced stuff, but your idea is far better. Gives things a proper direction, so gona do the same.

Best of luck with those increases @Damo

Yeah I recently found people actually do charge £7.40 etc !!!

Haven't really even begun to sort through all the jobs but fast approaching an increase of a £100. So the way i see it i can loose 10 jobs now at £10 each and be ok.

My target is £200 a month increase on the work! This will also include some dumping letters going out and replacing the work with better work.

Just updated the price list database and it stands at £92:00 increase

its interesting going back through the database.

Some of the red houses (Ideally a £2:00 increase) have had alot of £2.00 but a few £1:00's So thats probably the fear of losing them!

Some of the yellow houses (Minimum of a £1:00 increase) All have had at least a £1.00 some £2:00

Quite a few green houses (Happy with price) Have had a £1.00 increase!

I think the best thing about this is a professionally worded letter, envelope and sticker on the front. Customers that are not in receive the letter and obviously read it. There is no emotion there* maybe some anger lol. So far it seems to be working.

The only point i would add to the letter would be some form of "I would love to explain in person, but due to volume and clients working this is not possible"

On the whole i am very happy with the progress.

Interesting.

"I would love to explain in person, but due to volume and clients working this is not possible"
I would avoid a line like that as to those that may be upset with a price rise it reads.... 'I got so much work I aint coming round to talk to you personally"

May ease their conscience in dropping you over £2 if they think your minted

Just topped an extra £150 per month, i can count on one hand the people that have moaned/commented.

A couple of customers have really shocked me. Was expecting them to moan and didn't. One chatted about the price increase and said it was fair! lol.

EDIT - Just added it up and its £172!!!

This is close to £300 now.

Next time i will start a YEAR! in advance and do all the paperwork first. Big mistake i made was not printing out letters for everyone.

For the next increase EVERYONE will get a letter if they are in or not. I wasted a lot of time doing this.

But for an extra £300 every time round it was worth it plus i only put up about 40% i think!

Have you had many drop off ?

Not that it really matters as you are up over £300 for potentially less work

Haven't had one cancel yet.

I have dumped 4 customers.

A £17,£10,£25 and a £10. All absolute ************s lol.

All have been replaced within 2 weeks which is nice. Picked up a £20 house which is easier than the £17 and they are nicer.

They all got dumped by me by letter as they are vile people.

I would have love to have seen the letter! /emoticons/smile.png)

'Sorry Madame, you are rude, inconsiderate and vile, we are no longer prepared to put up with the snobbery. Please consult a surgeon and have that stick removed from your anus immediately.'

Has to be done @Damo any job where I think 'Oh no, not that house again' has to get dropped.

Well i have just updated cleaner planner and it's thrown some numbers out.

I am approx £38 a week/£166 a month/£2000 a year better off.

I am happy with the results!

One thing i forgot was increasing an 8 weekly house by £2 only gives me an extra £1 a month lol.

I dropped 7 houses but one commercial = the same in revenue.

Not one person cancelled but there is still time.

Two of the funniest price increases was a chap who went up £2 and said what if i went monthly would you put it up only a £1. I explained over the year it would cost him more but he said i would have cleaner windows. He was really happy. He was every other time.

A lady gave me a tip, made me a cup of tea then i said oh btw ya price goes up £2 next time. Tip wasn't even for xmas.

Oh and putting in a letter and RUNNING from the house :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

All in all i think a success, not the gains i was after but £2000 a year will help. Not everyone went up and the round is better /emoticons/smile.png

Justin wondering how things have gone since this price increase..

Some of mine need to go up £5 others need to double in price but scared ****less of putting it up more than £2 in one go. Eg I'm doing a 4 bed detached with 15 Windows for £10 (I'm in Yorkshire mind) but really I need to charge £1 a window roughly.

I haven't put prices up since 2013 and then it was only 50p-£1 increase

I know I'm probably one of dearest in area at £1 a window but to run biz properly and be able to save and a bit of spend that's what I need.

I'm in need leeds mate, we charge more than £1 a window, some are coming out at £2-£3 a window
