Fliq issues

I don't know whether this is just me or has anyone else had problems with soap getting behind your rubber when using a fliq? It seems to stay on the backing and get into my squeegee channel and then follow the rubber on the glass just as I am closing out.

too much soap, too wet or a combination of both...takes a bit of experimenting to get your combination right.

Do you have the pad over our under.

That there are these issues and having to get a balance of water on pad etc. Does it not matter if you have pad over top as the wagtail pads squeezed suds out when closing out but that was with pad under/dropping down.

There's no issues Keefo. This pad is very dense so it doesn't have to be slopping/dripping solution. When fully loaded it is wet and heavy and is good for multiple windows before repeat dunking. Where you will have issues is if your water is too sudsy. Now this is no different from the Wagtail pads. Too much suds especially at the frames and you are prone to get drag trails. Too much water running down the frame edges or along the top and your prone to get runs after blading. Also bear in mind that originally this tool was designed primarily for pad on top because that's the way Bob and Luke roll but a lot of us like pad under, particularly for the lower glass with slim frames. There was a lot of experimenting and refining going on during the testing period and Guy's final version works extremely well in either configuration. I personally use it under for 90% of my work the exception being the deep box frames on higher (above 8ft) glass. On a final note the pad when new is quite stiff and rigid and can prove to be unforgiving. Never fear however because after a day or two of hard use it softens an molds beautifully.

It seems to be when it is under I think most of it is the water coming off the glass rather than it being saturated. I do like my solution quite soapy as it gives plenty of slip on the glass

I generally have water in bucket and line of soap on scrubber, this way i like because it gives slip using liquidator. Would this method be too much for this pad? I know it can be trial n error, but when you're doing a window up above it's hard to see the trails.

Pad under with excessive suds and it will trap between blade and pad. Just experiment until you get the balance between slip and suds right. I personally use a mix of 50/50 Ecover and IPA (Isopropyl). End result? Suds but not excessive and the IPA adds amazing slip for both my Razer Red and Black Diamond rubber. Alternatively you could experiment with Polz squirt directly on the glass technique.

Don't see a problem personally. Experiment down low first. If it works there then it will be no different up high.

I use it both ways

Soap on wet scrubber or dunked in bucket of soapy water with plenty of soap

Quick squeeze in my hand and it is fine

Peter Erken told me they are delayed getting to his place.....surprise surprise for OZ. The pole i wanted is over $230 from Racenstein...nearly £200!!

I'm giving Windows101 in Seattle a go next week. Plenty of Excelerators. I've a colleague a couple of hours up the road who wants half a dozen so combined order and sharing freight should work well. What pole are you after Keefo

Was that 5m Moerman pole. I wanted to keep everything Moerman. I can't find any over here, I spoke to Moerman rep on phone last week and he said he won't be able to get his hands on one. He also said they won't get the Moerman angle adapter either, it's pathetic here for gear. The actual Excel handle and pad they won't get for another couple of months in WA ...... at the earliest. It's why i ask so many questions on gear because if it's wrong i risk losing $$$ on cost and shipping. What makes the freight charges high from Racenstein is the length of the product I was told.

@keefo can you get an unger pole and optiloc end cone where you are?

The excelerator handle fits that and is what i use

Yeah cheers Davey, that looks like it will be my option. This would be my choice from this place, not sure about shipping cost though. The place in perth that has the Unger pole only has 2 section for the 4-6m but i like 3. I've been having dialogue with Bob via email, it was he who said get in touch with Moerman as they want testers out here. I contacted them and eventually got the WA rep to call me but not really able to help on most of the stuff. Bob has now given me a woman's email at Moerman who originally wanted him to get more testers from around the world. I'll email next week but won't hold my breath.

Yep no probs. just jam it on. Davey on here uses his Moermans with this tip I believe. Also later on if you want to, buy the proper Moerman tip and swap them out, no mod needed.
If i can get hold of the Moerman tip!..

Cheers mate
