Blady locked gates grrrrr

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Very rarely but pretty simple with a pair of step ladders to just climb over so just get on with it.

One day I will just clean fronts but not at that stage yet I'd rather get paid

this is one of them jobs next doors pays for them as there away a lot the job pays very well so no biggy but still a bit grrrr climbing over  i clean 8 jobs round this one so nice and bunched up work so dont wana sack them off:D

Have I ever given the impression I dont get paid?:rofl:
No but what I'm saying is I don't want to risk it for the sake of hopping over. if you've a full round and you don't care you can be bold clean the front only and charge full price and if the custy doesn't like it dump them and not bat an eye lid.

Truth behind it @adamangler is I fell over a garden gate couple of years back. Landed right on the hip boney bit. Did nothing wrong, bottom of trousers caught on the post at the top.

Bounced up and carried on. Next day was so swollen and bruised I could barely walk to the bathroom. Had neighbor take me to A&E for an x-ray. No real damage just bruising and swelling.

Cost me 8 days off work - back then I remember it well that was £1420.00 out of pocket.

All for £8 for a custy that couldnt be bothered to leave the gate for me.

I do still get the odd text of ' We see you been, sorry we were on holiday' which happens and I reply with 'oh well no problem, ignore the bill and we'll get back on track next time' And they love you all the more for it.

If you want to jump gates that's your business but I can't afford it.

I would rather lose 1 customer at £8 and still earn £1412 for the next several days than zero.

In fact I would need to lose 177.5 customers before I lost £1420 back then so no fence hoping for me.

But as I say horses for courses.

I get this a lot. I usually do that area for 2 days. I send a text out the night before. They answer "OK" gate locked. I then text saying its locked again and will try again tomorrow. Had this a few times. Usually same customer. I have done fronts only on second try. Some pay full amount and apologise. Others ask " how much then. I don't knock much off.

Last month I sent usual text out. I get no reply. Went and gate was locked. Sent reminder. No reply. Ok they must be on holiday. Next month, still no reply to text. BYE BYE. Not worth messing about.

Had loads last few months.

I won't climb over gates full stop. As green said its not worth it for the cost of one job. Text night before to all customers who lock back gates has worked perfectly for me so far. Had texts saying we away please leave this time. All picked right back up next month. Only one that lets me down is a m8.

we don't tx ahead any of our jobs cant be arsed with that , so we all carry little gaints they make mince meet out of locked gates , up and over with no trouble
