had a quote for a conservatory last week and the sales guy said would you like self cleaning glass. I laughed ha ha ha he looked at me as if I had two heads. I said I think that is just a sales pitch.

He seemed puzzled and asked why I would say that I then said I was a window cleaner. He went red and embarrassed and squirmed in his seat. I thought now who has the heads. I pity the fool I pity fool ( quote from mr t for the younger members!!)

Self cleaning glass is not a myth. I worked in double glazing for 9 years before doing this job.

Its a teflon coating that makes it smoother.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think much of it myself, but it wont get as dirty, as quickly as standard glass.

When the girking building was erected in the square mile central London, it was sold on the pretence it would hardly ever need cleaning. My mate kev works for a big commercial company and cleans it every 4 weeks! /emoticons/smile.png

I have a couple of customer with self cleaning glass and it does work as they have high pitches.

One customer has a lean to roof with self cleaning glass, doesn't work at all.
