Univalve advice

Hi guys. not really looked into these that much.. just.wondered would anyone highly recommend them? do they work as they should? do they last along time? are they simple to fit correctly?

Currently use tap but keep popping out or getting damaged on floor etc

I use 3 S.L.X poles, and they are all fitted with univalves. They are the dogs lower regions and are a price of doddle to fit

I've been using one for three or four months now and would never go back to using a tap. It's definitely a must-have. Order one.

Got them on both my poles they are fantastic......

however i do find that sometimes it can be a pain to attack the hose connector to the pole connector.

I also find that sometimes if you catch the hose they will disconnect from eachother and i find myself picking the hose up and reconnecting it again.

Id be intrested to see if gardiners is any good.

Agree with all the above. It is a brilliant bit of kit. Gardiner's Gooseneck valve is pretty good too and even easier to fit if you're using Gardiner's poles.

Looking to get me a univalve soon, my only issue is I currently use a trigger valve which gives me loads of control over water usage...so what sort of control do you get with the univalve?

Yes obviously.....

I mean with the univalve you have to pick up the hose and pull it for on and pull it again for off. With the trigger your hand is on it at all times so it's a simple squeeze for water.

Apart from the fact you get hose loops with trigger valves what benefits are there to changing to a univalve?

You don't need to pick the hose up , you tug on the pole hose coming from the bottom of the pole

Got all 3 of mine in the summer, not had to adjust or touch them once.

I would suggest getting the blue p.u hose that exeed sell as well. Less stretchy /emoticons/smile.png

Do it and you'll see. I used a trigger for 7 years and the Univalve (I went tubeless at the same time) totally blew it away. Only thing is longevity. I've no idea how long the Univalve will last. the triggers lasted years. As Steve says use PU hose with it though, not PVC.

i think the univalve is amazing my only bug bare is ide like the plastic bits that the hose conects to to be brass

i didn't use a kit, i just used snipped my pole hose off so about 3 or 4 inches sticks out of the pole when its collapsed, and use rectus fittings on my hose reel which is 6mm, this fits up inside my pole.
