Morning all, what's people's stance on working in the rain? Forecast is saying heavy stuff should be with me around 12-1 but fine before, go to step out the door at 7-50 and it's raining already, not heavy, but enough for my customers to probably say not to bother this time, I'm not a fan of working in the rain personally myself unless it's bigger gutter jobs etc. windows I try and avoid tho.

Cheers

My views have slightly changed this year as no longer need to work in the rain. I will work in the rain if I have to or is required and normally just "crack on". Yesterday is started raining at 2.30pm and I had hit my target so decided to go home. Normally I'd stay on til 3.30-4pm this time of year.

Raining in Doncaster from 12 so called it a day don't wanna end up sick like last year cause I got soaked and no I don't do the wearing of coats when on windows. Do with guttering worth it for de money lol

And your customers don't mind you cleaning there windows in the rain??
Its all about training customers that light rain won't affect the clean. I offer a 24hr wet weather guarantee that tends to shut them up

I don't work in the rain. I just don't like being wet. It's miserable. I will clean in mizzle an if I have started a property I will finish it. Other than that it's sit in the van till boredom sets in then call it day. Now shower dodging is different. Get the odd inside an a brew on showery days which help keep the money coming in. Do hate binning a day in an area away from home if it then turns fine three hours later.

I carry a waterproof cover at all times, if it rains I get in it, it's called a van.

It's good customer relations as well if you stop let the shower pass then finish there house

I don't like getting wet either. I would rather go home and do it tomo. And people don't wanna see you if it's chucking it down. I would rather lose the money. Don't need it that much. If I can't absorb the odd wet day then I'm doing something wrong!

Rain doesn't make you sick..complete fallacy

Bacteria and viruses make you sick not whether it is wet or cold

I read about a few controlled scientific studies and ill people kept at cold temperatures will recover exactly as quick as those kept warm

Weather has no bearing on illness

Work in all weathers unless the rain is belting down but tend to sit in van and let it pass. It's hard when it's raining before you leave home

I need a career change if u won't work in rain

Been doing this for 10+ years the odd day off due to bad rain hasn't affected me so far. I let my customers know I won't be round due to the weather and will be round the following day and I have never had any of them reply saying it's only rain, instead it's more like no worries totally understand and appreciate the tx, everyone is different I guess
