Tips For Cleaning Big Windows When The Sun Is Red Hot

Much as this weather is really nice, cleaning large window panes when the hot sun is beaming down on the glass can be quite tricky..with smears and lines appearing as the water quickly drys. The water can dry out before you finish off with the squeegee and then the window can look worse than when you started. In those situations I tend to have a very wet applicator. The increased amount of water just gives you a bit more time to squeegee. I also have a slighty damp premium micro cloth to detail with. this can help eliminate smears. Does anyone have any tips for squeegeeing and detailing in really hot weather.

Depends what detergent you are using, Sorbo glide could make a difference.

Or you could learn to work with applicator in one hand and squeegy in the other and play the chase game. /emoticons/biggrin.png It can be done.

Or just don't worry about it because summer will be over by the weekend. /emoticons/sad.png

yer ive seen people doing that chase game! thats another skill!

just do as your doing, super wet mop, and the chasing really isnt that hard with a little practice, altho i do a warehouse unit where the glass really holds the heat, so even when im chasing it still drys too quick, i just avoid doing that particular job when its beaming!lol

I was out monday and it was blaaazing hot - I was using ecover with white vinegar and a 22" squeegee and tbh I did notice the glass starting to dry off but if I just sped up a little it was fine. I have heard that using less detergent than usual can be helpful too?

I don't know who makes the best equipment, I just bought what was available - a terrycloth covered tool to wash, a squeegee, and some microfiber cloths, and a bucket wide enough to fit the tools.

I use a cleaning solution I found on the internet:

In 1 gallon of warm water:

1/2 cup ammonia;

1 cup white vinegar;

2 tablespoons of corn starch.

Mix well.

I use this solution both inside and out. Outside, I hose down the window first to get any heavy crud off.

It will help u so that u can clean window faster.
