Leaflet marketing for window cleaners

thats the one i have been using this week, YES please and got 4 from it today. best i have used and still works /emoticons/smile.png

Never thought of that technique - 'Yes Please' but I can see how this would work a treat. Also I didn't put prices on my current flyer although I've been thinking I should do, cos like you say Green it cuts out all the messing about, they can just see what it'll be and then make a decision before they call.

I was also thinking for my next flyer, putting something like '5 reasons why having regular window cleaning is a great idea' and then listing the benefits and then calculating a typical price for bi monthly and telling them the weekly cost. 'It works out at less than a cup of coffee from starbucks' - that sort of thing. Although it would need to be worded carefully otherwise it would come across as desperate.

P.s Green, you look a lot different that I imagined you would /emoticons/tongue.png

tomorrow ill go round and look for more Yes in the window.

i think i have adopted this for keeps now. beats knocking anyday /emoticons/smile.png

Only thing is, I'd be tempted to think that these 'Yes Please' customers are one offs. Reason I say that is because I like to speak to a potential customer face to face, asking them clearly 'Is this regular or one off?'. Also you get a feel for them and can tell if they are time wasters most of the time. Lately I've had some messers and late payers so Im making sure every time that they understand that this is a REGULAR service not one off. If they want a one off its at least double the price. If they dont like it, fine. Im not interested in one offs - I want regualar customers who's windows, frames and sills I take care of for an excellent price.

I'd expect time wasters to use the Yes Please thing. Sorry to sound pessimistic guys. For instance they might put the sign up, you do them then they say 'oh we just wanted it this once'. That would wind me up.

Also, you'd spend time driving over the areas you've leafletted and you'd need to inspect each house to see if the sign is up or not (not easy with big houses with massive front driveways). This would be time consuming with no guarentee of work.

I like to speak with a few people in a street, find out if there is a window cleaner who currently does the street. If so, move on further up the street or to a new street. If no window cleaner is present, you roll out your script along the lines of 'Ok, I was just working near by and wondered if you'd like window cleaning for your home' or a straight up 'Would you be interested in window cleaning?' or if their windows are clearly dirty say 'I was wondering is you'd be interested in window cleaning. I can see they need doing'. This isn't rude, its honest and 9/10 the person will agree, yes they need doing. 'Ok, let me give you a price, I can do them now if you like?'

Ideally I dont want to be putting flyers through doors when I can see that the sills, frames and glass are clean and I dont want to be putting through doors unless I know there are no windys presently doing the street. I only really put flyers through doors where I think along the lines of 'Ok, the glass is filthy and needs a clean' or 'Ok I know this steet hasn't got a windy cos I've spoken to several people'.

Also, with the Yes Please thing, your asking the custy to commit to a service in which they've never seen you or heard your voice over the phone - a frightening prospect if you ask me and I bet the old folks wouldn't do that. Sorry if you think I sound negetive but just speaking my mind

Read the card @PJ BBullard

It says 'put this in the window and we will call by in the next couple of days'

You dont just rock up and clean. When you see your card in the window you knock on and have a chat.

The card is not an agreement it is more of an 'introduction' so to speak.

Also PJ you have not tried it so dont knock it mate.

Out of a drop of approx 6000 over 2 years we picked up over 700 leads.

Ended up with so much work I had to sell some off.

The cards are real easy to spot in windows. When you are looking for something you spot it.

yeh i got work from a cleaner who just stopped showing up in the area, i spoke to a few of them, tomorrow im going back round after i rearranged for them to be in. if they leave the YES things in the windows i write on a slip im sorry i missed them but ill be round to clean on xx date and terms of service etc. so if they cancel it will be £30. if they do cancel its cash in my pocket to go on more flyers so im not to bothered. gotta take risks in business to get anywhere.

i just stick the van in 1st gear and chug down the road looking in windows for the YES in big black writing. get out and do the biz. i love these and i got the idea from another cleaner who got 700 quid worth of work in a month off it. BUT he set it to 12 pounds and got someone to deliver at £8ph.

I would never clean till I spoke to them in person.

You can stick what you want through my door but a letter telling me it's a contract and your going to have cancellation fees etc will get you told to 'jog on'

i changed my version about. i always give new customers a sheet explaining about WFP cleaning and the terms of my services i give them. never had issues with it yet and i have been doing it almost 6 years /emoticons/smile.png

If i had a cancellation fee through the door i would love to see you get the money:rofl:

No contract there so you can legally be told to do one

doesnt have to be a contract to be enforced mate. same with window cleaning, if you can show the courts they were paying regular each month thats good enough/ the intend was there to pay. show me your contract for your water bill? what about your gas and electric? or your tv? what about the contract for car insurance? bet you aint got one because it was done online and that makes all those VOID. for a contract you need 2 signatures in wet black ink under contract law. ( i studied law )

yes if they have got u to clean and owe u money but if they text saying we dont need u anymore u can not get them to pay a cancellation feee

anyway from those YES leaflets, 1 dropped off and kept her gate locked and there was a notice on the window saying her old window cleaner can do it for £8. bye bye then i dont need messers. but i gained another house today next to one i was cleaning. I did underprice slightly on some houses.
