Don't bother today.

My pet hate is when a customer tells you don't bother today!!! I have scheduled the clean and lost revenue. Wonder how they would feel if when they turn up for work and they were told no work today. Anyway my policy is I don't bother with these customers and just tell them the next time, sorry I didn't plan your clean and have taken on another customer. All I can do is put you back in my que. (What do you guys do in this situation)

Same. I just had my first Xmas cancellation (equally annoying), knew that were gona happen with a few so kept round simmering just above what I'm comfy with.

Anyway,she's like..

Can I come back on in March? the old window cleaner didn't clean in winter .

I've said sorry,it's my livelihood and I'll be cleaning all year. If anyone drops off I'd need to put another house in place.

She still asks to contact me in March.

Told her I always run with a full round, sorry. Won't be space.

Had one last night. A newly canvassed job. I texted at 6pm to say I'd be along today to clean the windows. I got a reply at 11pm "Hi, the wife is getting a few quotes. Best leave it for the time being, will be in touch. Thanks, Andrew."

C**t I thought, so I replied. 'It might have been polite to have let me know this at the time you agreed to go on my rota and not text me the news at 11pm the night before I was due to clean.'

He replied, "Apologies, only just got your text. To be honest, had a lot going on and it slipped my mind. Sorry for the trouble."

That's a £20 job gone! Picked up a £17 job today so it's kind of evened itself out.

Hate these type of people. Especially new builds where you have to price keen and also break the customer in gently as these seem to drop you early on in the relationship I find.

Yep, had one ask to go back on the round in March. You can sense the ones who are going to bale out can't you. I told her I'd be back if I had space. Problem is its on an estate where I have a lot of compact work, so it's not as if I have to go out of my way to do it. I might just sack her off full stop.

I'd maybe keep the space if it were on a compact areas yeah. On second Xmas try and maintain it over winter with a bit of education THIS IS MY BUSINESS!!

@Tuffers I'm not at the stage of really sussing who'd stay on my first Xmas hence why kept round a bit bigger than needed. Got suss to potential bad payers after being burnt a few times however.

Is the 17 quid customer looking more promising @Tuffers ?
I'd prefer a 17 quid reliable one over the twit you just described anyways mate
Yes I think so mate. She asked when I'd be round again and I said probably after Xmas. Oh, we're going to be in Poland just after Xmas, how will I pay you? Just pay me when you get back I said. So seems it could be a stayer.

I had another one text me back yesterday asking to leave it till next time as her hubby was having an exam at home and it would take all morning . What the frig has that got to do with me WFPing the windows!!!?

If it happened 1 time they would go express-lightening-speed to the bin ! I just won't tolerate that kind of stupid disrespectful behavior. One customer moaned about the weather the other day and asked if we could just do insides , "I said we are here to clean both ,so that's what we'll do today . " she'd know by that time it wasn't a great suggestion. :hehehe: I would feel rediculous being turned down, and then returning another day for a bone like a dog ...

you can only let them get away with it so much if they keep doing this just sack them not worth it i used to lose sleep over these messer's not anymore. Then when they conact you tell them its a one off clean charge due to missing all the time CASH only

When your building and this happens it's proper bad. I remember feeling at their mercy pretty much daily, bit once you've got plenty work it's the other way about.

Second cancellation for Xmas here last nite while collecting (yes I know I know), asked me to come back in feb this time. I said that won't be possible,we parted ways...

Shame cos she was a right milf and until she got this new bf we flirted like mad. So it's his fault really.

I had one do that last week.... Not today please... OK see you next year....

She realised she wouldn't get her windows cleaned for 4 months. .. I saw the panic in her eyes but I was already leaving.... she will never turn me away again lol...

Had one Yesterday , cleaned once wfp , great results ! Came back as planned and the wife looked at me Like i was an alien , Said they didnt were to be cleaned until monday ( as they hired a Trad cleaner ) she told me her husband , who i made the deal with ,dont Like the results .( why havent He complained ?!)I Got pretty annoyed , and told her ,if you got another cleaner , why havent you cancelled me ? Now im all setup , trailed hose round and all ! She Said they were Sorry , but this dude gonna BE Sorry!:hehehe:, coz i just fined him a 10 pound fee ,for wasting my time with un noticed cancellation . ! Eat that ! :hehehe:

I'd drop them if I was you.

In the past when it's happened to be I make them aware that once they're off 'The books' I don't start recleaning - it's then up to them.

I've got a couple of clients that don't have it done Dec, Jan & Feb as they go to their 2nd home which is out of the country but I've factored that into the price.

I hope you don't have any more messers!

Had a first clean yesterday, got paid left. She phones me today saying I've 'saturated' her windows and the water wont go away:confused:

Went back tonight to have a butchers. Where's the problem?'

Look, that water isn't disappearing like you promised' she says

Turns out her double glazing units have broken down!!!!

'thats moisture on the inside of your glazing love, their mullered"

Grrrrrrr
