The difference between 'Carbon Composite' and 'Carbon' poles

Looking to upgrade the WFP in the next couple of months or less. Currently eyeing up window cleaning warehouse's PhoniX MkII - PhoeniX MkII 'PRO' Hybrid

Has anyone had a PhoniX? They any good?

Just wondering about material. I know carbon is obviously lighter than composite but how much of a difference does it make to your day?

Im also tempted by the Ionics Grafter because of the very short collapsed length (1.6m) which would be so handy for a lot of my residential. Thing is, I want something lightweight and long - 7m plus - for my commercial and roof velux's ect ect.

I've heard a lot of you raving about a Gardiner poles. To be honest I want recommendations. At the minute Im using an Unger Ally pole! It is horrible - can't wait to get rid of it!!!

I use the six 25 for all residential work including bungalows ,great pole but I would say it would only last a couple of years tbh

I've not tried conposites but the diffetence between fibreglass and carbon is substantial!

I use Gardiners slx 27 with 3 x extensions to reach commercial and high tenement flats I clean - easy to take on and off so I can whizz round the smaller residential stufc and have the option to put them on when my day is 'higher'...

I had about a year using a Gardiner CLX before going to the SLX carbon & found it a massive difference in use. Not so much for weight, but the rigidity of the carbon one meant I wasn't fighting the bend & I remember getting loads more work in. It's coming into its third year and will need new sections soon.

Full carbon is considerably more rigid than carbon composite. Hardly noticeable, except for the weight difference, when doing low level work but very noticeable at height. A lot less effort is required to work with a more rigid pole at height. If you have a lot of work which requires a 25ft plus pole to be fully extended I would highly recommend a full carbon pole.

I have both SLX and Water Genie Vipers.

There is no noticeable difference at all. SlXs are two year olds and the Vipers about 14 months. All doing fine. I do prefer Gardiners quick release.

Extreme for me next ...my slx is coming up to two years old and is still alive, but even at 22ft on some angles its a handfull.

Me too.

Spent yesterday working with my SLX 25 all day just to see what it was like. Wasn't bad. Actually only needed it for one 3 story Towner. I normally work with an 18. Today went back to the 18, and the difference was considerable. So think I'm gonna get me an Extreme 22 as they are the same weight as the 18 but will give me a little extra reach.

Big vote for Gardiners poles , I am currently use a series 2 Xtreme 22 with the metal bands and I can't fault it at all shame they stopped selling them .

Avoid the Ionic's poles like the plague they are useless , best pole at a reasonable price is Gardiner's slx very robust, reasonably rigid , and easy to work with all day . The extremes are excellent to but a lot dearer

I use an slx22 it just about reaches everything on my round, a couple of jobs im on tip toes but it does it just.

Currently use that and a sill brush, going to get an extreme 18 and extreme brush that should be ok for 80-90 % of jobs

I like the section lengths of the 25. I wish they did a 20 footer with the same section lengths as the 25. I'm tempted to get the 25 and use it with one section removed. Just worries me a bit that the insulation would be missing.
