OK guys, need to pick your brains again please and truly hope you don't mind......

I'm using an unger soft rubber on an ergotec handle, but I feel that every time I squeegee a window, I may as well go over the while thing again with my microwipe.....

Too many streaks and too much water......yet I wring the mop out and feather the squeegee first.....

Any thoughts gentlemen?

Thanks again.

Dean.......dumb and dumber!!!

Could be your rubber as Green said I use the black diamond stuff as well and rate it.

Make sure you have enuff cleaning solution on your applicator and good coverage with it on the glass as to little will make the blade drag.

You could be catching the rubber on your holster bucket... it happened to me, to me ages to find out why my rubbers were deteriorating so quickly..

I have never gotten on with soft rubber I find it deteriorates way too fast. For the past six months I have been using the Black Diamond and get on well with that.
I can only suggest a change of rubber.
Are the black diamond a soft rubber? And where do you get them from? Thanks

It's a real knack to get good edges with an ordinary squeegee, but it can be done. Best bet these days is to get a Moerman Liquidator. Personally, I've never got on with ergonomic type handles, I find them too bulky. Since I first started using squeegees, back in the seventies, I have always had the brass type; Unger, Pulex, Ettore etc. The other thing is less water but more addative.

Ditto on the Moerman recommendation - especially if starting out traditionally, you might as well get used to the new technique.

If you want to continue with the Unger search 'dog earring' and 'Christopher Dawber's' videos on YouTube and see if that might work for you?

I used to use unger s channels and ergotec handles

Hand modded all my channels then

It does make a big difference and i can 0 detail with them

Wagga's (Christopher Dawber) mods are very effective but involve cutting into the channel to dog ear them which makes them weak and if dropped need re adjusting which can cause the ends to snap off eventually

I will dig out an old channel in a mo and take a couple of pics..very easy to do..i was doing it for years and then Polzn Bladz helped me refine it and now they work perfectly

Hello again everyone and thank you so much for your thoughts and advice. I'll definitely start with new rubber then - I've recently bought a couple of razor red, but will try the black diamond too then in an unger s plus channel. If that doesn't help, then perhaps the liquidator is the way to go.

I'm fairly confident my water and additive mix is good enough and I'm certainly wetting the glass enough too so not getting the drag effect.

Hi Chris - yeah I'm just starting out!!
