Wet 40/40 membrane delivered

Just a quick question, i just received a 40/40 membrane and i was already wet, i have ordered others before and they all came dry, so i was thinking its either been used or they wet them for transit to customer. i thought this was a bit strange. Have you ever received a wet membrane before .

They are usually supplied in a sealed plastic bag and the membrane coated with a preservative.

Wonder if it was checked for some reason. Whatever, I would tend to reject it and get an explanation from them before demanding a replacement.

Ionics membranes are 'wet' from my experience. As Spruce suggests it's a preservative of some kind as the membrane deteriorates if it is left dry.

This was definitely wet and not a coating, in the bottom of the plastic cover it was in was about half a cup of water. it went all over the floor. i will ring them tomorrow.

All sorted they sent out a new one right away and received it today. Great service
