The perfect WFP van

Hey guys, I'm having van trouble atm. It looks like buying a new van in the next 2-6 months will be a necessity, or pay hundreds of pounds keeping alive a 13year old van thats starting to die.

My question is, which van is the best wfp van?

I've worked in Trafics before (this is the van size I'm after), I really liked that size van. But I've also worked in a LDV Maxum, which seemed a bit big.

I want to use my current 350litre system but I want a van that can hold a lot more than the payload so I'm never even asking it to do too much.

What vans do you own, can you recommend any vans.

I've decided that buying new isn't a problem. We've owned our current var from new and find far less problems with it than any used car we've bought, you know EXACTLY what's happened to the van, and what works been done on the van, and payjng a van off over 5 years is something I'd be prepared to do. So suggest away.

I thank you all for your comments in advance.

If your only putting a 350 litre system in a van of that size ,unless you have lots of other equipment seems a bit pointless to me.

Combo/doblo lwb, conect lwb both hold a 1 ton perfect if your only using a 350 litre system.

Cheaper to buy and cheaper to run.

2011 Trafic LWB sport 150ps.
Benefit of Trafics is the fully galvanised with 12 year transferable anti corrosion warranty. Perfect for a van full of water.
Ford also offer this on their new transit customs /emoticons/smile.png

I've got a transit never let me down but rots like he'll pula had bad earth issues but would have another real work horse I carry 325 but do other maintenance work too

I run a SWB transit custom, 2014 plate. We carry a 650ltr facelift system RO/DI. - heated unit an run of two HD power reels. It has double ( colour matching) hydronic ladder rack, so we can trad too if needed. It drives 3 of us comfortably and is my pride an joy. I spent time and money saucing this van an all the right components to make it as state

Of the art as I possibly could, the custom is a powerhouse of a van an more than carries off this beast of a window cleaning machine I always dreamed of then finally created. Love the custom couldn't recommended it enough mate. Good deals available over 5 yrs too m8, check it out.

Thanks again for the replies.

I hadn't realised newer small vans had so much more room than they used to.

Well, the van is going to cost me 1000's and funnily enough as I was driving home from work on Friday I heard a rattle from the engine meaning something else has gone on it.

Been REALLY ill this weekend so not managed to do much about it.

We've looked at van prices, spoken to fellow window cleaners who live round here who've fitted systems before and we've considered the advice on here.

Considering all options and using all our info we're looking at getting another Kangoo, they've got good reviews from mechanics who we know, financially we are able to get one that's 2k cheaper than any other brand new van out there and they have what we need.

It all depends on when we can get a van aswell, Christmas is approaching, so holidays and we are away in January.

All not a good time for us so just wanna get back to work, each day I'm struggling with the van and not getting a new van ready it's costing me money.

Sweet van Gleam btw. Very tidy.

Ive got a Peugeot expert lwb payload 1200kg, i didnt really need the height of a transit or vivaro and when i looked the at the length of the expert, to my surprise it was longer that traffic vivaro transit it is even longer than Citroen relay, and the great thing about the expert is that in the front cab i have a load through that goes from the bulkhead to the front windscreen, which give me another meter of storage, i have a 60ft pole and it fits in easily. With the lwb version i can carry everything i need including 2 pressure washers 2 tool boxes 3 hose reels 4 poles. And as it is the 2.0 ltr version its got great pulling power. And now Peugeot have just released there new expert version, ive not doubt you could get a really good deal on the old shape one.

Thanks Jason. I'll have a look. The cabin layout is the 1 thing I dislike about the Kangoo. I'm not far froma Peugeot dealership so will have a look.

Unless they rebadged them as Toyotas and disposed of the remaining old stock that way. /emoticons/biggrin.png I've seen a couple of previous model 66 plate Proaces around in the last few weeks.
