Out canvassing for new customers today.

Could not decide if this house could be a good or bad customer ??

Decided those windows would be really fiddly to clean, so chose not to give door a knock......View attachment 9082

I take it you are just trad then..i used to do them style windows a lot trad and it is a pain

Now with wfp i love these and do loads daily on some estates i cover

I purposely skip awkward houses when leafletting. there's loads of houses out there why take on awkward ones
I skip nothing..there is always a way to get the job done and if it is awkward so will take longer then it is priced accordingly

I could not call myself a window cleaner after all these years if i missed potential opportunities as it was an awkward job

If it has windows i will find a way to clean it unless it is totally impossible without access equipment

True davey, I was given one by another window cleaner up here last week.

It's priced at 7.50 by him and is an absolute mare for the price! Slate roof, bay window set far back, lots of small windows..

Went to do it and realised should be more like 15 quid plus here. So she'll get notification of what I'd do it for now. Doubt I'll get it but we can't be doing work for what we ain't happy for.

Tricky houses are less likely to be canvassed off us and fine if the price is right I reckon too.

I get the same reaction whenever i quote an awkward job

"You can do that one!!..our old guy couldn't so it never got cleaned "

Then you look like a much better cleaner in their eyes and they are happy that all their windows will get done for once

Then the recommendations start

Why are the bins not falling over?? Superglue?
They are recycling bins. One for plastic, one for cardboard etc etc. They are designed to be stacked one on top of another then a lid on top box.......recycling target has gone down since these were introduced in our area. Truth is, most residents don't even recycle anymore because they find it too much hassle.

I drove past the house in the past and the family are strongly religious (there are other signs on house..Jesus saves etc which you can't see on photo). Found it strange when I noticed those bins stacked reading 666 on them !!!

Fair enough Id rather find something easier to clean than **** about.

For example ones that you have to go through the house, need ladders or no parking etc.

Personally part of the enjoyment of this game is creating an easy life.

I do an house boat and have to park about two minutes walk with a trolley and charge an extra £5 Explained that to the customer and was more than happy.used to do it trad but they wanted it wfp because of the salt water.

I like a challenge now and then as it breaks up the day a bit

It is all easy money though really

I get it all the time. Best one was " I doubt youll be able to do the back, because of the slope its 3 storeys, we've had so many Windy's to quote and all have said they can't". Went round the back, simple 3 storeys no Conny or extension and said I could do it piece of ****, he nearly had a heart attack!! Turns out he'd has 12 Windy's quote over 4 years with no success! Seems like everyone's poles stop at 18ft!

I used to do jobs like that with a 5m harris pole with a wagtail slimline flipper on it

No reason any trad or wfp cleaner can't do most jobs

Just easier to say you can't do it i suppose
