I have never liked online payment. Most of my customers know this and leave the money or cheque somewhere in the back garden, If they don't their windows don't get cleaned.

Those who request online payment get a text or an email as soon I have cleaned their windows to pay within 24 hours which works for me.

 
Most of mine are now starting to pay sent messages out that I would like all outstanding debts cleared before the new year starts

The thing is with online payments people do forget and people do tend to be slow but it's usually the same ones each month.

I had one recently that had reminder after reminder and eventually a small claims letter. in the end she got in touch apologising saying she was away. seems to have kicked her into gear as she's very quick to pay since. sometimes I think they need reminding this isn't a game and that we have bills to pay.

 
It's always the same. Regardless.
Only way round it is too catch them with a card reader in your hand.

GoCardless is the way forward. Job done click a button and a few day later monies in the bank.

Yeah sure a couple will whine about paying the commission but I would rather have 100% of £990 than 0% of £1000 in my account.

Well said, I've got a little iZettle reader & have it my back pocket for one such custy who has two bounced GC payments owing 4 months money. Waiting for the 'I've got no cash' before I pull it out.

I have an I zettle reader have yet to use it because moblie signal was allways so poor in most places I work so now they have boasted the signal to 4G and h+ when no 4G I'm hoping to use it more

In some of the places I go they discovered fire only a few years ago. A phone signal is something that outsiders talk about. /emoticons/ohmy.png

don't know if any one else uses one but I take a lot of payments through PayPal used to swallow the fee of about 40p-70p a transaction pending how much there bill was but now more people pay me that way and I know own the customers they pay me through friends and family and get no fees...they also do a chip pin card reader that's connected blue tooth to your phone cost me £60 but I love it and so do my customers... don't get the opportunity haven't got any cash on me after done clean can I pay you later anymore, I just get my card machine out and say that's fine I can take payment by card and off they go to get there debit card...does contact less as well...lot of the time when I'm done cleaning they'll be at door with card on hand waiting....and ones not in and don't pay you on line after you've left handy when you go back to collect as they can't use excuse got no cash on me just get your card reader out job done...

Standing order is automatic. Get them for end of month then u know wen its coming

And the months you don't get to them? Off sick, weather too bad, on holiday etc? With a standing order you're still taking their money regardless.

That is why GC os better as you actually have to sync your jobs first.

with now employing staff i find that there is no excuse for missing work

with customers it weeds out the not this time lark

for people who forget

say i clean there windows start of month it is scheduled to come out end of month

i started it on october and works but we are fully ontime with all or work now i dont thinnk this be good idea if u were late usually as u said

Problem with standing order is if you have them set up so that it comes out at the end of every month and your round is on a 4 weekly cycle you end up doing them a free clean over the year as 52 divided by 4 is 13 so sack that. say you had 3000 a month on standing order that's 3000 down each year. rather you than me

I have people do bank transfers, and I collect when I get round to it, the transfers that forget are very apologetic when I remind them they haven't paid for last weeks clean and usually pay immediately, ok some are on hols etc in summer but never really had a problem.

On a different note how many of us nutters have 5 kids! Respect Silverton for starting your shopping that early I am like Adams and I have just finished[emoji13]
