I use cold water for my round 500ltr tank..in my opinion my windows come out perfectly clean all year round...what benefits are the hot water system going to have to me, as my windows can't get any cleaner then they are....if I was to convert my system to hot...what would I need and would it be easy to do and rough cost if anyone knows...I don't purify my own water either, just go to window cleaning supplier near me pull up outside hose in tank and filled in 5 mins. so all have in van is 500ltr tank, pump, flow meter...hose reel to van ports under neath...nice and simple.

Jay I use hot all the time,10.7 kg tank does me 2 weeks (£23) I think with the hot I get through the houses quicker with less chance of spotting [emoji16]

You shouldn't be getting spotting with cold water.

I use cold and 1 day off the month I use hot when I fill from a golf club I do and it's roasting the water and to be honest I haven't noticed a difference , saying that i haven't gave it a proper going on real dirty/ salty windows

poles I don't get spotting with cold ,I mean when cleaning old timber windows or windows you know that drip from the top vents ,when using hot water it's more or less dry when rinsing so less chance of dirty water dripping out after you've gone (I think I have just trained my brain into using it now [emoji16])

you would notice a difference with dirty green windows or ones with a lot of bird c--p on them [emoji16]

Yeah I would imagine it to melt it to be fair, if I had the room in my van I'd probably have it

Converted to hot not long ago , wouldn't ever go back . The cleaning is definitely quicker ,especially on bird droppings and bee poop.

I'm well aware that you can do a perfect job with cold ( I've done it 11 yrs till now ) but it's the speed of these deep cleans that gives en edge to it.

I use an Eccotemp 5l with propane. Very economic as you only heat what you use . First costumer is always a waiting game as it runs about 4 min. To get hot though. I run about 50 degrees. I know people with immersed heaters . Which is great , but I don't always use up my tank ,and would feel a waste in heating up the whole bunch. Price for my system is about 200 pounds incl. the propane tank . Can be fixed in an afternoon.

I only use my hot when the weather is freezing or if I'm doing a conservatory roof that's minging.

For the sake of about £100, its a no brainer /emoticons/smile.png

I'm thinking of installing hot water as I do a lot of mobile homes and chalets and want gutters etc dome every time and would be quicker especially with black marks on window frames

I find no difference in the quality of the finish just that it can be achieved a little quicker with hot. In my case it's not significantly quicker enough to warrant the expense all year though I've no doubt it is for others. I tend to use it when the temps drop to low single figures. On those cold days I like working with warm equipment and on those rare days when the temps stay below zero all day I can keep working without fear of my equipment freezing up.

Used both, biggest difference is you get bird droppings off much, much easier with hot water.

Not really worth it price wise for me, but might drop an aquarium heater in a barrel and carry 25l of hot just in case?

The cheap tube aquarium heaters work fine they just don't get the water hot , I have a 1kw aquarium heater and it heats the water in my 400ltr tank to a warm moderate temperature , As for the analogy with washing dishes windows don't get the grease and other substances that household dishes do .

Yes their will be some benefits to using hot water but its just a new toy for the boys and we all like buying and using new equipment, The hot water interest really kicked off over the winter of 2009-10 which has now resulted in a much wider use of hot water and custom made tanks with a heating element can be bought for around £1,200 .

I've run hot for 2 years. Cost pennies. Cleans faster. Breaks down dirt quicker. Dries faster and keeps my hands and back of van toasty.

It's not about toys for boys it's about blitzing first cleans etc and knowing they will be fine without having to go round a second time as some do.
