Almost fell today

Stupid really.

Cleaning a standard new build with a porch. Ladder m8 upto gutter line and poled the window above slanted porch.

For some reason I got too high and put a foot onto the tiled roof,I slipped, my heel kicked back and the ladders went crashing down.

I held onto the rendering on the edge of house; where it jutted out at an angle. Any other building and I'd have fallen, but this peculiar shaped edge saved me.

I've had to jump down onto the side of the house and landed just about fine.

I also broke a tile which I'm getting fized, and had brand new boots on which added to the slipping effect.

Felt like a total tool..and yesterday I reversed into a grit box and broke a rear light lens!!

@ECS Windows aye was trying to rush too much and cutting corners tbh. Not good when trad in winter I've swiftly learned

My uncle was working with a tree firm and found a windy hanging off an open window lol. Hopefully it just happens the once and that's yours out the way now

I nearly went yesterday, ladders slipped back on icy block paving.

clearing gutters today and had the standoff leaning against the facia ,it's a new build so ground is soft so I pushed ladder down hard .went up and when I got to the top the ladder started sinking on one side and the standoff came away from the facia :-0 slowly and carefully put weight to the rhs of ladder and gingerly made my way down and fixed it ! #closecall

I was cleaning off a ladder in a very boggy garden. The ladders used to sink up to the first rung , so one day I decided to spread the weight and foot the ladder on a piece of plywood. As I got to the top of the ladder the plywood started to surf /emoticons/biggrin.png. I got down pretty sharpish :laugh:

@HALTON they are great. There's a YouTube video out there where the guy proceeds to climb on a block of ice.

Ice,ladder m8, triple extension ladders on top I think they were. Not a budge!

@HALTON only when needed or slow me down too much. Use on all wet decking though. Grips solid
