Cheap second hand vans

Across the board ultimately it all depends on what type of set up you want or need I have a 400ltr diy set up in the back of my truck which is strapped in , Now for anyone who would prefer a van diy set up in a brand new van with just strapping the tank in for example then just lease a van they are a whole load cheaper starting prices for a small van is around £150 a month with vat added over 2 years .

vanarama.co.uk
I wouldn't recommend Vanarama, I put a deposit on a transit custom which they said would be on my drive within 10 days....6 weeks later after having to call them every week and being told it's due in this Saturday each time, I cancelled and only then was I told that they hadn't managed to get a single van out of Turkey yet so god knows how long it would have been if I'd waited!!!

The sales speak is excellent but once you've paid your deposit expect the customer service to drop to zero!!!

Fair Play Spruce I used Vanarama as an example of prices typically now the starting price is based on a 10,000 mileage limit per annum , Now in terms of leasing its all about personal circumstances and what works best for an individual , I lease my L200 from Lex Auto Lease via my local Mitsubishi dealer over 3 years currently and they take fair wear and tear into account and don't expect it back in almost brand new condition as some do .

Following on for me (1) A truck works for me and my wife for both business and personal use (2) We only have suitable parking for one vehicle so that also works best for us (3) With the truck I lease an our personal circumstances along with the prior taken into account and along with the fact that its cheaper than the overall cost of running to separate vehicles .

Luke Barnard that is shocking customer service and very very good to know I was considering my next lease with Vanarama just because of a slightly cheaper cost but think I will without a doubt stick with my local dealership as they are top guys who I have dealt with a number of years .

And last of all I work really hard and very much enjoy having the vehicle of my choice without the full cost .

Same as you, I've bought Berlingo 02 plate (no turbo) for £600 three years ago ex Window cleaner. Stickers was Hi-Tech window cleaning ( may be some one old van from here ) 90 000 on clock still strong and reliable. Only changed clutch, radiator and exhaust what is cost me around £300 not bad for cheap van in three years.

I'm with you on this on A. K and I still only use a car. Always have right from when I started with wfp nine and a half years ago. I get a kick out of the fact that even my new xtreme pole is worth probably twice the value of my car now. It's clean and tidy and has been totally reliable to date. I've often contemplated getting a small van but I don't actually need one and just can't bring myself to part with my car. It'll be 20 years old in the summer of 2019.
Yeah mate if it ain't broke don't fix it I won't get rid till mines costing me all time..I just run em into ground anyway never sell anything lol ...

It's not always those in shiney vans that are doing the best☺

Plus I use facelift compact so just lift it into another van or car lol

Alright Clisty, here's a few pics of my old van. It's sitting on my drive if you want it m8. I'll PM ya a few details. Get back if your interested.

It does seam off putting when you put it like that but do bear in mind that just over half of that monthly payment is interest and devaluation and whats left is capital (which is yours when you sell the van) plus you take the costs off your tax return and NI which saves another 25%ish.I spent about £2500 on repairs in this tax year plus the devaluation of my blue van from what I paid a dealer (and the VAT) to what I can sell it for privately. All in its cost about £5k which I know is probably about as bad as these things get but I couldn't leave myself open to the possibility again.
Fair enough. I'm not vat Reg so that wouldn't apply and my accounting is done on a mileage basis at 45p per mile. so i can't claim a van purchase as a taxable expense.

Had some quotes from vanarama. A 3 year lease on a transit connect works out about 9 grand and then you have to give it back. Not to mention the water damage you are going to do to it in 3 years.

I'm running an '05 Berlingo. So far a cracking little van. Some Berlingos have wobbly steering as mine did but a 2nd hand steering rack (£30) and then fitting (£60).

Apart from that just tyres.

Cost me £500. Big enough to carry 350 litres and all the kit I need. (WFP's and trad).

Not the fastest on the road but cracking for town or country lanes where you can't go like a bat of hell. Returns me approx 50 mpg fully laden.

The added part is the little cubby hole above the windscreen where I keep all my paperwork and the passenger seat not only folds flat and gives a table sort of surface but it also folds forward to provide under seat storage.

If I was to replace it, it would only be with another newer model. /emoticons/smile.png

I bought my Trafic from a Renault dealer for £10.5 k.

Did it through a company called Kennet Leasing and Finance.

Cost me £220 per month over 5 years. That's £7.85 per day to have the specifc van I wanted and after 5 years it's mine to selm on or do what I want.

Yes the interest is almost 20% of the total but what do you want? My credit was not the best by a big margin however I still have a decent van that will last and serve me well.
