we normally use the 8ml bright green stuff from pure freedom , we have had good service out of this stuff until the last three rolls we got

it started spilting in less then a week there unwilling ness to sort it and there lies they spill mean I wont shop with them which is a shame as some of the older stuff is 3 years old and still going

some where everybody getting there hoses from , don't care on the price or the size of it , just need a good hose that doesn't curl up or spilt when being run over buy traffic

I've got the 8mm yellow which came with my pure freedom reels. Never had a problem. Demand a refund if its split after a week or if they don't agree request a chargeback from your debit or credit card company. There's rules to stop people selling goods that aren't of an acceptable standard.

A mate had the same 100m in use daily accross roads etc for about 2 years then i nicked it for my claber reel and still like new

Another poster on another forum also had a problem with PF hose in May last year.

He said the split was 20 - 25 meters. Alex Gardiner told him to refer it back to PF. PF asked for photos of the failure. The op didn't advise the outcome.

I've got 100 metres of that hose waiting to go on my reel when my current hose gives up the ghost. Not looking good is it.

I've just been told that PF admitted it was a manufacturing fault. They wanted a large piece of the hose cut off and sent back so they could take it up with their suppliers. In other words, they weren't interested in settling it as a warranty claim and then taking it up with their supplier. They were going to make sure the supplier acknowledge responsibility for the claim. They would then settle the claim with the customer. The problem with this is that nothing ends up happening. If you threaten court action then its up to you to prove that the failure is a manufacturing fault.

They showed such a poor attitude and wanted to make it a long drawn out affair that the poster just decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and replaced the hose.

Several other people replied that they also had difficulty dealing with PF when there was an issue.

I've just switched out my Gardiners 6mm hose after 2 faultless years of service, to 100mtrs of 6mm blue hose of ebay. So far so good and very light.

I use 100m of 8mm rhino hose and 50m of xline 6mm on top.

I use the yellow stuff that came on my second hand reel a year ago. I also have some red stuff I bought of ebay as a reserve. I expect it to last year's.
