Just ordered pure freedom trolley. Anyone use one regular? Have I done the right thing?

That depends very much on you and your rounds. I'm on my second one in nine and a half years. I only replaced the original one because it became a bit shabby. I've still got it as a backup. I wouldn't wanna be lifting it in and out of my vehicle all day as I can see how that would be a pain. However, mine comes out and stays out as my route is very compact. A van mount for me would be almost completely unnecessary and would hardly be used. One of my friends started with a trolley, was convinced by friends he needed a van mount, splashed out (sorry) on all the kit only to find like me that for him it also was unnecessary and went back to a trolley. Like me he finds he can earn money faster and more easily with a trolley than with a van mount. So it can work very well indeed.

In time though be prepared to find like many others that a van mounted system is better for you.

I started with pure freedom trolley nothing wrong with em depending on your rounds but for me a pain and awkrawrd and heavy lifting in and out all day plus filling up. sold mine after few months and got van mount which much prefer plus a gardiner back pack. for me personally if was starting out again I would have gone for gardiner backpack on a sack truck. good luck pal

Thanks. Quite exciting to think things will be done differently. It's like getting a new job.

Try your trolley , it's brilliant bit of kit , you have just bought 3/4 of your future van mount .

All you need now is a tank and a hosreel.

I was in the same situation as you , I use mine as a van mount now , either stick your hose in the top of the tank ( that way you can still use it for awkward houses , parking)or strip your trolley off the frame and feed your pump from the bottom of the tank.

Good luck with your "new job", mate! Customers will love it! /emoticons/smile.png

Personally if I would have to start now from scratch I would get myself a 100psi pump, controller and leisure battery straight away and some cheap hose reel and few 25L barrels. It would be a good investment for future van mount and save me a lot of money!

Just after Christmas got myself a van mount (DIY around 1000€) and now I have two backpacks, 2 shopping trolleys and a sack barrow that is just sitting in the shed.. Hopefully will use them later when spring comes and will start to offer softwash to customers if not it would be money wasted.

Lad I employ two days a week uses pf trolly all day. I think it's a good bit of kit. Use it myself more than I thought I would. Easier than pulling out miles of hose on some barn conversions.

I bought the 50 litre package from them last June and it's a very well engineered piece of kit.

I take it off once a day and put it back once a day usually.

Lock it to the van and run 100m out from it each way with all spare barrels in van it's a piece of **** and probably the best single purchase I have made.....for £1400 I got everything bar the reel and 100m hose which I bought later...started off with 25m plus the 10m with the package.

Upgraded the package deal to get a carbon pole @ 37 foot then took 2 extensions off for most of my work, they are there if needed though.

90% of my work is in one area and for the other 10% I use it van mounted out the side door.

Don't know which one you've ordered, but if its the standard 25ltr one, it is a little heavy to be lifting in and out of a car or van many times a day. If getting it in and out of your vehicle proves to be a pain due to this weight you can halve the weight with three simple steps.

1. Put pneumatic tyres on it. (cheap on ebay - make sure to get the roller bearing ones)

2. Change the pump for a 4 or 5 ltr/min backpack pump. (will use less current than the Sureflo and bolt straight on using the same holes)

3. Switch out the 26ah battery and battery box for a 12v 7ah battery. (You will get a days use out of it with the backpack pump doing domestic work)

Did this to mine a year ago and it halved the weight of it. Made it much easier to get in and out of my car. The backpack pump is still going strong. I now carry a spare pump, battery and wheel all of which can be changed real quick.

I have the 50 litre one...am 59 and can easily unload it from the van....presume your not trying to unload it with barrels of water on it!!!!
