My Van Hell

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I bought a low mileage fleet owned Vauxhall combo and the cam chain snapped at 66,666 miles.

I decided to buy a brand new van and sold my car. Not replaced the car either even though I thought I would eventually. A new van can go wrong just as easy as an old van.

The key to success is to have a back up plan if your van goes boom! Even barrels, backpack and a rented van works. Surprising how many people don't have this. Ok I might loose a day while I sort a van. But that's all I would loose.

My expert flashed up "anti pollution filter error" and ground to a halt on Monday.. After 10 mins it started again but engine management light was on. Overnight it magically healed itself and been fine since and lights gone off. Got 280k on the clock so think it might be time for a new van. Can't bring myself to spend to much as I'm **** at looking after them.

My scudo (same van) started with this last week, it drives perfectly normal. It had come on a couple of times before and drove like it was in limp mode but only briefly, but this time its on permanent. It can **** off if it thinks its going back to garage, had a new gearbox and clutch last month, two week later a water leak, got that sorted then next day this light came on. One more wrong move from this van and i will torch it lol

Apparently its a common fault as these as the antipolution error is just a generic warning for what could be a lot of different things, it would need to go on diag machine to determine what it is.

Sounds like they need a good blast down the motorway to clear the pipes. If you only do city driving they can clog up. Most of the time a good long run at higher than average revs can clear it out. After 3 cycles of starting it up, run for 5 mins, engine off with key out, leave 30mins and repeat after that it should sort itself out.

Thing is we use these vans a lot and stop and start a lot short trip's allover on our rounds **** is going to go wrong with em I had both front spring's snap on me few months ago lol what a noise had door steps re- built and brakes lines done that's it really fingers crossed ...

Had mine plugged in yesterday and it was low pressure in the fuel pump. Just wonder how long it will go on for before it gives up. Happy days
