I gather from your setup that you are not using a flow controller. Using a tap to slow your flow will put undue strain on your pump. This will use more power from your battery and shorten the life of your pump. If you don't want to spend £100 on a controller, they can be built quite cheaply using one of these,

New 12V-40V 10A 13khz Pulse Width Modulation PWM DC Motor Speed Control Switch C | eBay

one of these or similar,

ON/OFF Round Rocker Switch LED illuminated Car Dashboard Dash Boat Van 12V | eBay

and a small project box.

@Alex Gardiner I no you now have your own on off water control valve. With the amount of people that now use the univalve and the amount of people that use the Q.loc system I use both is it possible in the near future that you could produce a Q.loc swivel with a male connector each end that you could disconnect brush pop the swivel in Pop the brush back on do the awkward windows disconnect brush back on carry on.
