IMG_5654.JPG Ha ha.

I'd finished work and was just about to go to my dad's for lunch when I got a text from @daveyboy. I thought about leaving him there but I wouldn't want to put the customer through that;).

The side of the roof has that plastic siding stuff on it and that alleyway is a lot wider than it looks in the pic

If it didn't have the siding stuff on it i would have hung down and dropped to the floor

No way i could have reached that fence and gutters all along the front

Neil will tell you it wasn't as easy as it looks from that angle

And with my knee i ain't jumping

Yeah, I can confirm that there was no easy way down. The alley is definitely wider than it looks and that plastic edging would have come off if you'd tried hanging from it.

The funny thing is that I was asked to quote that job but never did. It could have been me stuck up there instead of @daveyboy

Easy fascia job though

Not very dirty so only charged £60 plus £15 for the windows

Take off the 20 minutes stuck on the roof and i would have been there about an hour

I got stuck on a balcony once when the ladder blew away. I was cleaning an Egyptian Christian worship place. A really old building with really high windows. To reach the top windows I had to climb onto a balcony. I'm cleaning away and the ladders blew over. I had to whistle until one of the ministers or whatever they are came to my rescue. There he was in all his robes trying to lift the ladder. I don't know what was funnier, me stuck on a balcony or him trying to lift the ladders up

This is the 2nd time i have done it in 26 years

Last time was about 10 years ago on a very steep sloped front roof with rose bushes below..waited about half hour until customers neighbour came home

I'm disappointed!

A couple of softies like Chris Ryan or Bear Grylls wouldn't have called a mate to come get them off the roof!

Oh, hold on Bear would have called a helicopter to the nearest hotel though!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I have both of their autobiographies

Chris Ryan is tough as old boots

Bear may have been caught sneaking off to see his missus at night but has done some pretty mad stuff in his life

Climbing everest a year after breaking his back in a freefall accident and being told he may not walk again earns him some respect in my eyes

That plastic siding stuff is called a dry verge mate. And yeah I agree about not hanging off those as most guys who fit them just throw them on with hardly a fixing [emoji849]

Met Chris Ryan, lives in Monmouth. Met Andy mcnab too, neither are as big as you think they'll be
