It's a scottish thing mate

Need to have a licence to lick windows

@Hawke that's nuts it's only 40 odd in Fife. I think Kinross is 110 I heard.
You work over 3 regions here?
Glasgow mate!

I count 5 council areas in any 20 mile direction. The end of my street is a different council area and I don't drive more than 30 mins for any of my work. I have actually cleaned in a 4th area that's across the M74 and again is 20 mins from my house.

I wish we had it here in England. It would literally halve the field over night.

Some form of paid registration, get all the dole topper uppers out the way, all the e convicts out the way, all the kiddie fiddlers out the way and leave us to run a business.

I would honestly be happy to pay £200 per year per borough if we had decent control and enforcement and I cover about 6 boroughs.

As you point out Green,it's main purpose is for trust. We basically *in Fife anyway* have to have our insurance in place and a copy goes away with our licence application. Mines due for renewal I've just minded.

Once that's done it's onto a police check. There is still so many running about here with no licence it's unreal though. As they'd have to fork out for insurance to get it. .so don't bother I assume. There is a council guy who's meant to check up on this, but in a year I've not seen him once.

The police check is great,i wear my badge when canvassing and I explain what it is and that I'm pvg checked *Disclosure check or whatever down south. No one has EVER seen one before to date and it helps sell it on for me. Trust and legit service innit.

I am fully crb checked due to coaching kids rugby but i doubt if it would make any difference down here for getting work except for the infant and primary school job i do bi annually

@daveyboy maybe so but you can't assume people have not had bad experiences with past windies..within 6 months I'd heard all sorts of stories about stealing from gardens etc.

These kind of things will add confidence, to some customers.

How much did you have to bribe them to pass the check?/emoticons/wink.png

I help out with my kids at Scouts, so I have to be CRB checked (or DBS as it's becoming known).

So, when I took the van in for signwriting I had it added.

Instils a bit more confidence with the customers I think

And what's the point of having a licencing system if it's not enforced,

If I was paying for a licence I would be more than happy to get pulled up.
