Ive got a 500L Xline tank and recently it's stopped filling up properly. Mains water pressure is about 80psi so that's not the problem. I've contacted Xline as this is second time it's happened and they are sending out a new RO unit, I've changed the carbon / paper / resin in Oct last year, mains is 320ppm so should I be changing filters more often? Reading have just gone up to 002. System flushes correctly for first 5 mins then just shuts off? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

What solved the problem last time it occurred?

We can have a real problem with sediment in our water on Teesside. At one time I was changing my sediment filter every month as it was blocking up. A blocked sediment filter was reducing the performance of the r/o as it was restricting the flow of water to the membrane.

We use Fiberdyne 20" carbon block prefilters from Gardiners. The manufacturers say they have a service life of 75700 liters (pure + waste) We change our prefilters every 3 months on average and under normal conditions the sediment filter is ready (needs) to be changed.

Hi thanks for reply, it just seemed to right itself last time so will see how we go with the new RO and see if that helps. Thanks for info on filters as well will keep that in mind.
