Can anyone suggest some decent lightweight waterproof boots or shoes, i have various pairs in the past but they all claim to be waterproof but there not. Hopefully some of you have some decent ones.

cheers

Keen boots and shoes are top quality my last boots were the leather Targhee II and they lasted 5 months before letting water in and still have some grip left.

Just picked up some walking shoes at the weekend for £50.00 normally around £80-90

Go for Anything with a Gore-tex membrane in it . Its pretty waterproof enough .

I use police boots . Mine has not Got the gore tex , but the next set will have .

It ain't just about keeping feet dry it's also about durability, I paid £90 for some Merrell boots and I walked the soles flat in 10 weeks.

If you are working full time pounding tarmac and concrete then even the apparent best of boots will be trashed in weeks but not Keen best boots in 17 years

I bought some Salomon walking shoes and they've been great. Wasted a lot of money buying vheap ones from sports direct and some Regatta's that weren't up to scratch.

I'll post the model when I'm home.

As already said, any footwear that incorporates the goretex membrane.

Most of the premium walking brands will be good - Keen, Berghaus, North Face, Brasher etc.

Dry comfortable feet = a good day of work!

I'll join the Gor-tex comments. I have a pair of Nike trainers and clarks boots and a pair of dress shoes all have got-tex and are top quality. My every day choice for the windows is the Nike pair with wool socks and keep the boots for the really cold days 2x wool. I made the decision about two years ago to only buy shoes with gor tex in as it rains so much in the Welsh valleys, in addition if you are looking for a hardwearing durable sole manny of the top brands have a vibrum sole, I've had boots with vibrum for regular hiking up the beacons and they are bulletproof proof.look for soles with the branded yellow tag.
