Hey guys, I've got a backpack now for around 14 houses that can only be done wfp and am thinking of moving more customers onto this (tops only).

Any advice of how to go about it I.e letter them with a template letter explaining what it is and how it works.

Want to continue tradding bottoms as I enjoy to work this way but feel that I can do more if poling the tops.

Any advice would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Haha, it's not a well known thing in my area mate, and a lot of older customers so don't know how they will take it. Will I get any issues after them being trad cleaned, I.e spotting from the soap that's been on the glass? My tds is 0 for the water I'm producing but I'm also using it on houses that had always been done wfp so unsure of what happens once I convert.

Tell them because of health and safety rules you can no longer continue with ladders.

Tell them this is for all window cleaners, that will stop them seeking another window cleaner.

Tell them to be patient as the fist clean might show a few spots, but there on after, the frames and sills will always be cleaned and the windows will stay cleaner for longer.

If they don't like it, well, you know what to tell them /emoticons/smile.png

I just said that due to a change in the way I'm doing it, the windows will be wetvehen I leave, within 20 mins they'll be dry and shiny. Also rinse like a man possessed, and warn of the small chance of spotting after 1st clean wfp, just in case

Do the job good they won't tell the difference.

I thought about the letter route and telling them, in the end I was so busy I didn't bother and no one mentioned it!

Magic, I'm going to do just the tops like I said so I'll go with the advice given and just start, another quick question though, what about runs? The front windows of some houses have that half strip along the middles and when doing trad I'll get some runs so have to detail them everytime, just wondered if this would be an issue wfp.

And thanks for the replies.

I don't agree with blaming it on H&S, you make a rod for your own back if spotted on ladders doing a gutter job etc and it's jot entirely true.

Don't be negative - Be Positive!

Sell wfp as an upgrade, an improvement to current window cleaning because in my opinion it definitely has many more benefits.

Its what I did 8-9 years ago, and it worked perfectly for me

What i do is all the frames, then the top panes of window for the whole side, then go back to start for bottom panes. After a couple times it won't really matter, as they're shouldn't be any crud to run

I worried too, but everyone is happier with it now.

In my opinion: tell them you're doing it when you turn up/knock for the money and explain how it works to each one. Education is the key to the change and their confidence in what you're doing.

At the end of the day you're cleaning their windows. Providing which ever method you choose leaves them satisfactory then it shouldn't matter whether that's trad or WFP.

Good luck. I didn't look back once I converted. Barely get the squeegee out of the van now.

You will go through a whole load of water on first cleans, I was the only local wfper in my area for 6 years until others converted so just ride it out as you will get some doubters and few issues along the way.
