Can't be bothered to work...

Bouncing it down here and I for cast all day. Looks like gonna have to go home.

Really annoying. Want to get this bloody work done before I bugger off on holiday

I feel like this some mornings - particularly when the forecast is bad. IMO the best thing is to just get out there, after a natter and a cuppa with customers you'll find it's not so bad after all.

This happened to me yesterday and although I got rained on a bit I had a great day & got through all the jobs I wanted to!

I've had this in the past. Trouble is longer i left, further behind i got, and then i was even more anxious about going. In reality all customers were happy to see me and once i got into the swing of it, it was fine. If there's a certain few customers that get you down, that you don't look forward to working for, drop them and move on. That's what i had to do. It can also be due to lack of sunlight over the winter months, which leads to less melatonin production in our bodies. Melatonin makes us happy. If we stay indoors just makes it worse.

Money makes me happy not melatonin /emoticons/biggrin.png

Nowt worse when you want to keep on schedule , I started in the pouring rain yesterday just before 7am on commercial that was dropped on me at the last minute but thankfully the rain cleared quickly .

I'm the same now. Used to have a guy but he made my day worse cos he was so angry at the world.

Some days can be difficult but I have to pre arrange 60-70% of my work now which means to keep a professional standard you can't just 'not turn up'. My bills are astronomical at the min but now and again I reward (or the heavy rain rewards) a day off. The woman works 8-6 every day so that at home R+R does wonders for my motivation (and losing out on precious currency).

Find a new hobby/goal/aim for this year. You'll be surprised how distracting that can be and the days fly by.

Oh and music, got to have music on all day

You need reward and a purpose I have Glamping in my Folding Caravan, Outdoor Bowls I don't live to work I work to live. If you don't want to work something is missing that needs to be addressed.

In my situation recently the windy wet weather rain strong winds have all played a part of me taking time off. The two lads I employed have walked out on me. One gone onto another Window Cleaner who pays more than I do but mind he has to work harder and longer forit. The other lad starts in a Factory this coming Monday. So I am on my Jack Jones again.Don't get me wrong when I am out there I enjoy the work and talking to the customers. I am at an age where I don't like climbing ladders I am not as agile as I used to be. I can do both Traditional and WFP prefer the traditional but the ladders side climbing onto tiles. I need lads in the Sunderland area anyone willing to do the ladder work with me. Even going collecting what I worked for is a grind.

I reckon my Get Up and Go has left me.

Why not switch to wfp and work quicker and easier.

Also would be easier to find staff. Anyone can be trained to wave a stick about quicker than tradding off ladders I would have thought

Hey bro... **** times, but it doesn't rain forever... chin up! You've obviously built a decent business so don't give up... search for staff and keep going, things will settle.. they always do! WFP everything, it'll be a new lease of life for you while your searching for staff.. good luck

Take a break.
We all get like that some days. Some days o love the job some days I really can't be arsed getting out of bed.

What I've found is once i force myself out of the door and get working I feel much better than thinking about it too much

Or book a holiday.

I'm going to Italy next monday for a week. /emoticons/biggrin.png 3 more days work for me.
Totally agree with this. I'd go bonkers if I didn't have a little break every few months to look forward to. My last one was the week before xmas so I'm well overdue. I did take three weeks off over Xmas though. Me and the mrs are off to Prague for four days on Friday for our wedding anniversary so only four days at work this week.

As for getting motivated to work, I don't have much choice. Five kids don't come cheap and we like a certain standard of living. The thought of not being able to send my kids on a school trip or not be able to treat the wife is enough to get me out the house in the morning. My way of working is to keep my prices as high as possible, get out early, smash out as much work as I can by late lunchtime and then get myself home. I find myself less motivated as the day goes on.

I imagine the opposite life ! Working in a boring place , or just having a person giving me orders, just for another suit to profit on my effort. When im really low and hates it all, this really helps me appreciate this lifestyle!
